Move on from last week.  Yeah, righto, Port are making us look bad... we knew that already.  No need to keep rubbing salt in your own wounds, it's still good to see the druggies getting smashed.

The Toump has had 8 touches as well, although again, none of them seem all that damaging.

AAAAARRRRGGGHHHH

Yep, tired at round 2. Going to be a long year for us if that's is their excuse.

Perhaps 'tired' is Roos's code word for 'crap'.

Possibly. But if we supporters don't start to get really angry

NOTHING WILL CHANGE

Port doing more for itself and the game in China in one night than Melbourne has in the 8 years it's been trying to build there.

Port are doing exactly what we should have done last week.. very frustrating

Yep Bombers came out again playing with some intent- but because they are complete rubbish port absorbed it then proceeded to run all over them just as we should've done. Disgraceful performance .

Never thought seeing Essendon get smashed would make me feel so sad... don't think it'll last for too long though.

I don't think Wines has improved much, i mean he started really well in his first year but really to me hasn't improved a heap since then.

Jack Viney will overtake him if he hasn't already.

Definitely agree. He appears to of stagnated. He looks slow. He isn't finding much of the footy. I am sure he'll bounce back, but it is a concern for Port. If he doesn't bounce back, they are stuck with a one paced, slow mid, who doesn't run both ways, because that is what I am seeing at the moment.

Would Toumpas have been this bad were he drafted somewhere else or has he just been Melbourned?

He is so far from the player who dominated the under age years and the SANFL, but i do think it's far more to do with him, then Mfc

Deer in headlights. I think our awfulness just kind of amplified it.

I hope Toumpas does well. I know he cops a lot of heat (I have never been a fan), but I would like to see him succeed. He needs to live in the gym, the guy I am seeing out there is weak, he cannot handball 5 metres, he lacks strength. It is a strength issue, and an above the shoulders issue. He panics a bit. I used to panic when I played footy, so I understand, I only solved that problem after hours of sparring sessions (boxing), and learning how to harness energy and aggression - and to use it effectively. When we are calm, we can see all options, that appears to be Toumpas issue, he panics, and in turn, he does not use the football as well as he could.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
