Has to be the best young player in the game, what a superstar can he win a brownlow in his second season has that been done before I'm off to tab at the G tomorrow to whack $200 on him Iv never seen a player keep his feet like that the blues scored gold there.

Doubt he will win the Brownlow this year. Carlton won't win enough and will allow others to play better than he will.

Murphy and Gibbs probably played as well last night and the umps may look at them over Cripps.

Ablett in 2013?

Also, I think Cripps was drafted in 2013. Same draft as Salem.

Cripps is a gun, did you see the shots of him next to carey? he could easily play as a key forward and look the part

Amazing player. Won't win the Bronwlow this year but you'd be a brave man to bet against him winning at least one in his career.

Hopefully he stays in Vic. The WA clubs would be salivating at the thought of Cripps and Hogan in the same side.

He's 3cm taller than Carey. He's a beast of a midfielder, with the decrease on rotations he'll look good resting in the forward line.

Incredible stoppage player. His ability to get first hands on the footy, have composure and use it well is without peer.

He's an ordinary kick, but it hardly matters. His size makes him unstoppable.

Funnily enough, he was hopeless in his debut game against the Dees at the G.  Truly hopeless.  We judge footballers quickly.

There are limitations on his style though.  He'll never do damage like a Fyfe, Ablett, Judd, Dangerfield or Petracca :)

Definite gun.

Don't throw your money away on Brownlow though. As others have noted, there are too many factors working against him.

- Carlton wont win many games

- Gibbs, Murphy, Kreuzer and a couple of other Blues are all capable of huge games. Votes will often be split in games they win.

While we are talking about Carlton young guns, after pre-season and one game, I'd say Weitering is a solid chance of following Cripps to the hallowed ground of being runner-up to a Demon for the Rising Star.

He is a gun. And I wouldn't have complained had he pipped Hogan for the Rising Star. But gee, what a quinella. If those two continue their trajectory, they will be two of the best handful of players of the next decade.

One of the most underrated skills in footy is the ability to get one's hands free in a tackle in order to dish out an effective handpass. Voss is probably the best I've ever seen do it but Cripps does it as well as anyone I've seen in the time since then. Absolute superstar.

Definitely Viney's best asset. But at Cripps' height it is incredibly dangerous.

I agree. From what I have seen they are very similar players.

Different players to me.

Cripps is a beauty but lacks leg speed, Oliver is quick off the mark and will hit the scoreboard more.

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
