Just announced in the Supreme Court that Hird's costs order, to be paid to ASADA , of about $750k, have been paid by a white knight.

They weren't a LITTLE amount.

I wonder who the white knight could be.

Hird's claim against the Insurer has now been halved.

PS. Didn't see your post, Choke.

Redleg, I'm just trying to decode your little hint about the mystery benefactor. Surely "white knight" isn't code for Matthew Knights?

The term " white knight" came from the article.

The "bolded" description was my guess.

He might need the money. Some interesting rumours about the man and a supposed affair with a french girl that has delivered a bouncing baby this week.......

All according to my uber driver!

that would be priceless, if true. and dovetails into other rumours nicely.

Apparently a 'mystery benefactor' paid his $750,000 legal bill to ASADA:

Mystery benefactor paid off James Hird's $750,000 legal debt

As others have said, Little doubt as to who may feel so generous towards the twerp.

Can't believe that Teflon coated pretty boy has avoided consequences of his actions once again. Wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't orchestrated by the AFL. It makes my blood boil that his narcissistic sense of entitlement has yet been further boosted. That money should go to a far more deserving cause.

Think I need a Valium.

By all accounts Little and Hird weren't very buddy, buddy towards the end and neither was the AFL with Hird.

I tend to think a coterie member put up the $750k... you know one of the influential type that miraculously 'convinced' Charter, Alavi etc not to testify at the AFL Tribunal.

If my hunch is right, never fear, they will likely call in the favour one of these day, then Hird will pay his dues.

Nobody stumps up $750K cool ones for no reason ... we may not hear about it but whoever it was will want to collect from the teflon one:ph34r:

I don't understand this action.

Stumping up money to protect originally, I understand.

But he lost. He is disgraced. There is no longer a benefit to your club.

Why waste the money?

Obviously not disgraced in the eyes of the benefactor.

And maybe it wasn't for the benefit of the club...re read my post just before yours...its the most logical explanation...

Schools warned not to use banned players

"Victorian schools have been warned not to use the banned  34 Essendon players in any coaching or mentoring capacity even if it is unpaid work...The warning to schools came after one leading grammar school in Melbourne sought clarification from the AFL if they could use one of the 34 players in their football program".

WOW!  I'm gobsmacked!  What symbolic message is this so called 'leading' school giving students: its ok to cheat, its ok to take drugs!  Can they not see the danger?  I wonder what the parents think?

Crickey, I'm beginning to wonder if it is only DL's who keep fighting the good fight, for drug free sport!

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
