I have never understood the idea of Micro waving your card.

I can understand cutting it up and sending it back.

But if you Micro it you are only one who knows you are [censored] off.

If you send it back a couple at the club might know you are less than happy.

Or am I missing something?

Maybe microwaving it has the same affect as putting it in the oven? It shrinks it into a novelty sized card and then you send that back.

Volunteers were in Monday and Tuesday nights doing usual renewal calls and achieved 50 odd new renewals so we hopefully we will have the record beaten by the Richmond game. Would be great to announce a new record on Sunday night. I would hate to suggest it might announce a renewal of the the mighty MFC.

We should not though be satisfied with just breaking the record so all you Demonlanders who are able to purchase an additional membership, even an armchair membership($69), for a longsuffering supporter or a Collingwood supporter looking for a winning team to support, ring the Club on 1300 336 667 or go on-line and sign up another member.

As you know I signed my husband up 10 years ago and he will be there with me on Sunday night wearing his members scarf ( he hates Richmond). He often comes to the games with me and never not supports the Dees when he is with me ( he wouldn't dare??). I also have both dogs signed up.

Do you mean type of dog or membership? The dogs are both miniature schnauzers and the membership is $35/year. You get some sort of gift for the dog. This year it was a travel water bowl.

Both dogs were rescue dogs and one came with a well chewed small Collingwood football when we bought him home. That went straight into the bin and he now sleeps on a red and blue rug.❤️?

Just received a call from my father today. Dad is in his nineties and has been a longtime MFC member until he finally let it lapse this year because he is not steady enough on his feet to battle through the crowds from Richmond station. Last Sunday my brother picked him up in a cab and took him to the Dees vs Pies game and he had a ball. Imagine his surprise today when he received a MFC membership package in the mail recognising his many years of membership and telling him that a MFC staff member had paid his renewal on his behalf. Thank you Melbourne Football Club!

How awesome. Your dad just might see number 13....

My aunty is 94 years old and still goes to the G every day game (Nights to much for her now)  I sell her my MCC guest card and off she goes with a group of friends for a lunch and a few wines before the game......She has been going to watch the dee's for the past 70 years, dragging my family and me along in my youth.

I visit her 2 times a month in her retirement village for lunch and the conversation is always about the footy.

Hahahaa.  Fair point.  Maintain your mercenary best Boss, but don't allow her to fritter away her bequest to you.

You Instagram it or otherwise record the microwaving of the card and email it to the club you are protesting against (or post the video to YouTube).  Think 21st Century.

I am not sure how this got out to page 12 of the Demonland posts. How do we get it back on page 1 (and in everybody's face)?

We are very close to a new record so have changed the thread title to show the Countdown.  Mfc website shows 36,682 so just a matter of days now!!

255 new members needed!

While our total numbers are low compared to other clubs, setting a new record (from 2011) is a major achievement.  All at the club should be congratulated...as we march toward the 40,000 mark!

20/4/16 - 36,682
20/4/11 - 34,548

so we are running about 2,100 ahead of the record year at the same time and it went up about another 2,200 from now to the end. So we look like we are tracking to end up on 39,000.

Our results in the first 6 rounds that year were DWLWWL. We started the year drawing with the Swans. It's possible we could be 4/2 in 2 games time. Wonder what that would do for memberships. Then again we could be 2/4.

Richmond Supporters. Don't bother trying to understand them...

Yeah I thought it was only Richmond supporters who would "nuke " their membership cards and then call finey on SEN talkback to whinge .... The karmichael hunt loss after the siren a few years rings a bell here

    BLOODY BLUES by Meggs

The conclusion to Narrm’s home and away season was the inevitable let down by the bloody Blues  who meekly capitulated to the Bombers.   The 2024 season fixture handicapped the Demons chances from the get-go with Port Adelaide, Brisbane and Essendon advantaged with enough gimme games to ensure a tough road to the finals, especially after a slew of early season injuries to star players cost wins and percentage.     As we strode confidently through the gates of Prin

Melbourne’s most important player who dominated the first half of the season until his untimely injury in the Kings Birthday clash put an end to his season. At the time, he was on his way to many personal honours and the club in strong finals contention. When the season did end for Melbourne and Petracca was slowly recovering, he was engulfed in controversy about a possible move of clubs amid claims about his treatment by the club in the immediate aftermath of his injury. LIVE AND LET DIE by Meggs

The Demons’ impressive late season charge to finals will most likely come unstuck this Saturday evening when the Bombers blow up the also-ran Blues in the Ikon Park double-header.   To mangle McCartney, what does it matter to ya? To have any chance to play next week Narrm has got a job to do and needs to do it well.  We’ve got to give the Pie sheilas hell, say live and let die! It’s Indigenous Round for this game and the chance to celebrate and engage with Aboriginal and Torres
