He looks like he is about to be hit by a train, or Buffy is around the corner.

Nah.

That's one interpretation I guess...

Yes, it's an old design but I think he did well to incorporate it. I also think a version using the 90s demon (from your avatar) would be interesting to see. That was easily my choice of the modern logos.

Cartoon villain about to be hit by the hero's supercharge attack. Keep it simple man, we want kids drawing it on their notebooks.

Well, I guess that logo above would be great for marketing to the kids... stickers for schoolbooks, kids t-shirts, jumpers, beanies etc... but the new logo the club has come up with is ideal for general branding and marketing of the club.

(Retired) UFC fighter Forrest Griffin in town for UFC 193 is on the bandwagon.

Absolutely brilliant....I love it. I will be there tomorrow, hopefully Ronda is also donning an MFC t-shirt. Forrest is the second UFC fighter who has been photographed in MFC apparel, unfortunately the other was Tito :)

Goodness me it was a slap-together, wrong coloured nonsense of kit back then. I mean check out the shades of red between the Guernsey and polo.

Bloody pathetic in hindsight.

Not to mention that stupid dinky little collar.

Can I please just point out that no matter the colours or logo, the cotton polo will never ever match the polyester jumper.

It is chemically impossible for a synthetic and a natural fabric, let alone when one is woven and one is knitted, to match 100% in colour. Even more so when one is yarn dyed and one is screen printed. Especially vivid colours like red.

Yes you can get it much better than in the above image, but it will never be exactly the same.

Fashion lesson over. Carry on.

At least I can now add chemistry to the list of potential root causes of MFC failure.

That photo is in some dire need of treatment by the Ministry of Truth. There is an unperson ruining it with his nonexistence.

Not to mention that stupid dinky little collar.

Those collars looked absolutely ridiculous. Add in the colour issues (as already mentioned), the terrible and awkwardly placed emblem (I know, I know, some of you liked it), and the ridiculous stars on the back and it really made for an awful guernsey.

It's quite impressive how badly we managed to stuff up a red V on a navy blue jumper.

This version is much better from someone at BigFooty.

It is better.

Demonland should run a competition about how long this version of the logo will last. How many have there been in the last decade?

It will stick around if we win.

Perception of everything at the club is seen within this lens.

Was just looking at the NAB challenge fixture on FB, scrolling down and there it was....our new logo is embarrassing. It hasn't grown on me and I won't be buying any merchandise with it on it. If it wasn't for the secret launch they could have consulted members/fans. I don't mind the lettering and I get the Melbourne branding but the the whole acorn thing doesn't work on any level.

Each to their own.

i think it looks amazing, especially when placed alongside other logos on the Facebook fixture.

Already bought several pieces of merchandise over Christmas.

Members were consulted in a extensive branding and logo survey I completed in 2014.

I suppose you'll never please everyone.

I do find it surprising that the oldest football club in the world decided not to put the year it was established on the logo.

I know it's all about projecting forward but something so unique surely warrants inclusion. Maybe it can be subtly added in later.

Right next to the trident.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
