Sorry but if you get told something then Josh Mahoney says it's completely false 5 minutes later, you should probably question the word of whoever is giving you that information.

Yeah probably but still no need for the abuse.

If you were talking to him face to face would you still say it? That's all I'm saying.

Curnow looks like a fyfe/stringer type.. Could get that big body player Roos likes

They are fairly different players IMO. Wouldn't mind either of them though!

Just said on SEN that we may be looking at Curnow or Weid for pic 3 and a middy for pic10.

May also bid on a Sydney mid from their academy but cant remember the name.

Mentioned bidding for callum mills(syd), hopper and possibly kennedy(both gws), in that order. I would like this, unless Sydney bring in a ton more picks it pretty much removes them from the draft and possibly mortgages them for next year as well, will pretty much remove gws from the draft as well.

Agr

You're batting 0.500

  • very early call on Neeld
  • Dangerfield outfield catch last year
picked neeld's exit - bind freddy could have guessed

picked Roos early and first - potentially solid.

Jake Lever a lock at pick 3 - fail

Dangerfield and Kennedy are dees - fail

Trading pick 3 and 10 now - not looking good.

No need for the abuse Seraph, GNF is just passing on what he has heard.

Just cause he says it doesn't mean it will happen but could maybe be a possibility.

It's crazy that people STILL don't get that what comes out of Mahoney's mouth is not necessarily the reality of what's going on

We only give up a top 4 pick if we finish in the bottom 4. Plus, strength of a draft typically refers to how deep it runs - I haven't paid attention to the draft for a few years but typically the top 10 players are similar in talent year to year and it's the depth of talent that varies dramatically.

Also, as it's a picks for picks deal the points system can be applied for analysis:

3(2,234 points), 10(1,395) and 43(378) = 4,007 points

6(1,751), 29(653) = 2,404 points

The points difference is 1,603 points, equivalent to pick 8 (between 7&8). So if we finish 11th or higher we 'win', 12th or lower and we 'lose'.

The day they introduced the points system in the draft was like the day they started teaching algebra at school.

I went from advanced maths class to remedial in about a week, and 30 + years later I'm still trying to figure out what's going on.

Why would GC do that deal?

Strong hand next year? May get who they want at 6? Who knows there could be a couple of reasons. They got pick 29 from us which they've just used to get Rosa from West Coast. That could be a big part of it too.

Melksham if consistent may work and release Salem but we have no idea how Salem will go in the midfield and as for Kennedy we really have no idea what he will bring, it could be good but will need t wait and c.

"Potentially" is the key word in your last sentence.

correct silly post by WB Salems never played in the middle and Kents constantly injured.

Also according to the AFL website GC have at least one highly rated academy player coming through next year so the extra first round pick will help them with points

Salem played as an onballer at TAC cup and was averaging 140 plus supercoach point which is outrageous.

Interesting - classic win-win.

So much better than trading with clubs that think they've always got to come out on top.

The coup of the trading period so far, especially as it seems to work very well for both parties.

Thank you.

Salem was drafted as a midfielder. He'll slot in very nicely there for us in the coming years.

Yep.

With Salem, Viney,Vandenburg, Jones, Kennedy, Kent, Brayshaw, Melksham and Petracca rotating through the midfield they will get the nickname the 'wrecking ball'!

Other teams will be too scared to go for contested possessions.

Inside/outside class from Tyson, Vince, Stretch, Garlett, ANB and Watts.

Edit - forgot Jones!

Double Edit - How the hell could I leave out Vandenburg!!!

Just off topic from the club, but:

What do you guys make of Carlton's deal to send Menzel back to SA for a second round pick and Kerridge, a bloke who played 1 senior game for the Crows in 2015?

I know they are probably sending that pick to GWS for 4 average footballers, but it seems like they are giving up on a bloke who I thought showed a bit of potential and x-factor, something their list seriously lacks.

On the topic of other trades:

Rosa has been traded to the Gold Coast in exchange for pick 31

Menzel (Carl) has been traded to the Crows for Kerridge and pick 28.

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak
