I know Spencer and Gawn worked well for one game but I don't get why Roos is always obsessed with being loaded with talls.

Also interesting that Jamar was emergency for several weeks on the trot and then Spencer finally gets selected before him..

For me I would not include Jack Grimes, James Harmes, Rohan Bail in the final 22.

I read that Harmes was going to be rested with Brayshaw.

Spencer at full forward... Not sure about that that one. Lack of depth I suppose

As per the VFL report;

Jake had 19 possessions, took 12 marks and had 30 hit outs so he was probably our best player on the day. I was really happy for Jake because over his last four or five weeks hes just been there about but certainly hasnt impacted the game like he did this week. His ability to be able to play a role in the ruck and have some real dominance there and then go forward and kick four goals as well was really pleasing. He played his best game of VFL football in a long time so I couldnt have been happier for him. The challenge for him now is to try and back that up.

Congrats to chunk on 200 games.

Hopefully it's a great game for him and the team.

I reckon they will give Jamar a farewell game against West Sydney.

And good luck to him

I just think he is another player who, like Gawn until this year, has struggled to convert VFL form into AFL footy particularly up forward. That said I think Gawn will spend more time forward then in the ruck, leaving the duties to spencer

Bail and Matt Jones have failed too many times. Why rest Harmes ?? He has hardly played?? Been sub a few times. Why not just use him or Brayshaw as sub.

Tired players ... amazing !! no wonder we are viewed as SOFT.

Because we got nothing else?

Who do you suggest we play?

Id rather these games go in Jay Kennedy Harris instead of Bail for example. Didn't even play last week in the 2s and he still gets named.

Unbelievable

I like it.

It screams Roos call for the players to get angry and play that way too. Big Spencil will knuckle someone/s on the weekend and duly get rubbed out.

I have the feeling this game will be rather spiteful.

About bloody time.

Don't forget that Roos wanted us to play like maniacs last weekend and well look how we played.

Too true OX.

Maybe next week we'll be playing like psychopaths?

I know I'm not allowed to be negative .... but ...FMD ..... we'll get the [censored] kicked out of us..

What a [censored] up we've become.

Jesus, I don't think I can cop much more of this - apparently since my negativity has contributed to us being the basket case we are.

My only concern with this new found Uber Confident Positivism is what happens, IF Against all odds, the Dockers manage to outscore us (not beat, to negative). Will it hurt more?

That couldn't happen now that everyone is so positive but even if they outscored us we learn would learn from it and move on. It will be character building, for ourselves and the players. I think the Melbourne Footy team are the best little players in the best little club in the best little country in the world. I might even pay for my membership in Babcock and Brown shares as I reckon they will come good too!

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

    TRAINING: Wednesday 5th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
