Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

A bottle of wine then.

Low fat, natural grape sugar.

Everybody wins.

actually there is negligible amounts of sugar in wine. it is converted to alcohol by fermentation

in fact wine is known to lower blood sugar levels by preventing the liver from producing glucose (hypoglycaemia)

It is odd dc. I constantly argue the health value of wine with my doctor yet she constantly disagrees and advocates a permanent "Febfast" for me. She must be out of touch.

To those following these Paleo-type diets, wondering what you're doing for breakfast?

Suggestions?

I have two teenagers at home. We're vegetarian, have always been healthy-eaters, but do enjoy our pastas and Saturday night pizzas. Not sure how far I could push it!

(A gnat's under 6 foot, 64 kg ... do a lot of fairly serious bike riding)

I eat raw nuts and dried fruit (sultanas, goji berries, cranberries) in a bowl with honey and coconut milk. If i have time I smash the nuts and cover in honey and cinnamon and place in an oven to get a crunchy cluster type cereal.

Although not strictly paleo, you can replace regular pasta with rice pasta (rice is controversial among people following paleo). Or ypu can make zucchini noodles. Pizza is tougher, if you are like me and allow yourself rice, you can use rice flour to make a nice glueten free dough. Otherwise you can use almond flour. There are a stack of paleo pizza recipes online. have a look.

It'll be interesting if this is a continuing trend. Scores allowed in the first halves thus far: 5.13.43. Scores allowed in the second halves: 23.10.148.

That is horrendous.

On DeeTv Chris Dawes says he's dropped 7-8 kgs that's a lot of weight to drop in a few months. I'm interested to see how it effects his game.

kgs or "key grabs"?

I was concerned when I heard that our players were on a paleo diet. Because of the low carbs. Wondered if they would be able to play out matches with full intensity. Tennis players deliberately load up on carbs and laugh if they see their opponent sneaking a bar of chocolate for a sugar boost.

And we have had some fadeouts. Coincidence? Maybe. But maybe this paleo thing needs reviewing at end of season.

The article you have listed has blasted Paleo diet because Paleolithic man would have eaten carbs.

The club is not on a Paleo diet. They are on a very low/ no carb diet.

Our players can still have dairy and processed meats.

The reason why the club is on this diet is because of the benefits of no carbs. Not because they are following the Paleo 'fad'.

To be fair, most people on the Paleo diet don't give a [censored] what Paleolithic man ate. They are doing it for the benefits of no carbs.

So what we really should be thinking about is - Is the science behind low carb diets correct? What are the benefits?

Here is a link to Catalyst with a lot of information. You will see Professor Tim Noakes interviewed, he was the man who worked with Misson to get the diet into our club.

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the
