My, slightly autistic, bulldogs mad mate sent me this when i asked his thoughts. He has been spot on every time with his "analysis" in the past:

Beveridge throwing darts at the team list again like last time. We've upgraded a bloke who hasn't played a game in 3 years and has an average record at VFL level. Last week we were missing 7 of our best 22 and looked like superstars so who knows. Dees underrated again though but you'd think at Etihad the Dogs have the advantage. Money on the line for the Dees would be a good bet. Watched the Dees/North game and didn't think the final score was a very good reflection at all.

Also, no Roughead or Roberts back yet so Hogan will kick 5+ playing on 3rd string KPD Talia like he did last time.. Can't see Hamling playing on him and think he might be a bit quick/tall for Morris. Talia's probably the only guy not pulling his weight in our team at the moment but injuries have kept him in. Jamar, Salem, Stretch some pretty handy in's for Melbourne. Also sounds like a line up of James Bond villains.

I think your mate is spot on.

Mitchie should play the rest of the season with Toumpas in the two's

It should the other way around.

They're both bog slow but Toumpas is more creative when he gets the pill.

they won't make it, they have already been overtaken by all 6 1st year players

Mark Jamar farewell game??

I would have thought too early for that. He will def get one tho, has been a great servent of the club through probably one of the toughest periods.

Really respect the great Russian. He was always filthy when we lost - fantastic clubman and a future ruck coach.

Stef Martin rates his influence on his development highly.

i respect the russian......but why future ruck coach?

i don't want gawn being taught to knock the ball onto his shoe laces

I'm strangely keen for this game. Rationally of course it is possible to point to round 8 and say 'of course it is possible'.

But what I'm having fun thinking is "this is a great chance to win two in a row".

By winning the 'second' of two in a row before the 'first', we can break the cycle.

Similarly, this won't be the first time we win at Etihad, but the temporally reversed last of our run of Etihad wins which are yet to come.

I was out in the sun a bit today.

The best players don't always make the best coaches. He has got a good football brain, communicates well and is really rated by his peers as someone from whom they have learned a lot. I've heard Stef say it more than once.

Just on our record v the bulldogs am pretty sure we've also beaten the dogs at docklands in 2001 (rd 22) and 2005 (rd 2) - I remember going both games, unfortunately the former was the last time we saw the wiz in the red and the blue if I remember correctly ....

We're due for a win. Our last 5 weeks: L W L W L

Infallible logic.

we are fairly tall and they are small. Could work in either favour.

Every time i get a rush of excitement about a win this week I soon remember the game is at Shitihad stadium

Annoying

In a peverse way it has some merit though...

---> regain respect and prove themselves... disappoint everyone again.. repeat -->

In another part of infallible logic, we never win on the rare occasions when Garry Lyon tips us. True to form, he has tipped against us this round giving us a strong chance!

Totally irrelevant but Id like to know how many games weve actually won there since its inception.....

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
