Nothing short of deplorable from the Swans in the second half. Richmond took their opportunity though, so credit to them.

They sure did to, and good on them.

They're still soft though and will cause zero damage come the business end.

Yes pretenders falling over is letting the Dawks in with a chance at top 2 yet again. Might as well pencil them in for three in a row now.

Starting to look more & more like it everyday 'Hood'.

Richmond's last three weeks have involved wins over Fremantle and Sydney, both on the road.

I don't like them but they have to be considered more than 'pretenders' if they can get those sorts of wins.

It's also good for the game to see middle-of-the-road sides beating Sydney in Sydney. The last thing we need is a Hawthorn-Sydney GF.

Tippet seems a waste of space every time I see him. Am I watching the wrong games?

IMO has to be top 5, if not number 1, in the AFL's most overrated players.

Absolutely useless player who cannot mark, can hardly move, and has not an iota of a football brain. He's just strong and fit (in a stamina sense). He's continually required to wrestle his defender because he can't get on any sort of lead.

If he didn't have Franklin next to him and Kennedy/Hannebery/Jack/McVeigh/etc. kicking it to him he would hardly be playing seniors.

Having watched the videos on the AFL website, Franklin deserves at least 4 weeks (that is the classic kind of bump we are trying to get rid of. He makes a conscious decision not to go get the ball, runs past it, sizes up a player he knows he's bigger than, elects to bump, and hits him in the head. It should not matter one bit that Edwards didn't suffer catastrophic injuries. He could have, and that was wholly preventable from Franklin. That is why he deserves lots of weeks).

As for Tippett, that wasn't nearly as bad IMO but it was a bad spoiling attempt and hit the head. Maybe one week.

I think people used to have sydney as one of there favourite teams but I suspect that they are slowly becoming of one of the most hated. I mean they get Tippett in then they sneakily get franklin in, which was a great move by the club but from the outside we all don't agree with there extra funding and they have Goodes who people are sick of with whinging, sliding and trying to score frees.

As much as I laugh at Richmond and how they stuff up there seasons I actually found myself barracking for them, actually a draw would have been good as well.

But I did laugh when sydney only kicked 3 goals after 1/2 time. There millionaire forward line failed miserably and Rance just rag dolled buddy after 1/2 time.

2 + 8 = 10. 10 rounds to go...its a sign.

not sure of your logic Ethan

But this season is wide open

11 wins may get a final 8 spot

I just hope the MFC go into games planning to Win rather than minimizing a loss

Those dark days must be over...

If Richmond can beat the Swanettes at The SCG then it is game on

There was no logic.

I have to say i gave us no hope against Geelong, in actual fact i have never been more certain of a loss. Apparently the players didn't feel the same. i also hope the days of going into a game and playing overly defensive in an effort to minimise being thrashed are over. The next few weeks will be telling.

(Your probably all wondering if thats a real gun in my profile photo, it's not. It's a stage prop for some new head shots I had done).

Richmond's win, along with a couple of upsets from last week, has breathed life into the competition and prevented the top four closing up from the rest of the pack.

Some good games loom in the next round with the Thursday night game (Swans minus Buddy? v Port) and Collingwood v Hawthorn on Friday night being key indicators as we move into the business end of the season.

Of course, nothing can beat the Top End blockbuster on Saturday night which should attract more than 5,000 fans and will no doubt just outrate Father Brown on ABC Vic and Judge Judy on Arena.

Rubbish! 12 would be very lucky, 13 is the requirement with lowly %

If Top sides lose more games it coud become a real log jam for positions 7-13

Not rubbish at all

I think you're right 'titan', I don't think it will happen though.

Too much emphasis is placed on the injury to the player, Edwards was lucky. We need to really stomp this sort of thing out of the game before someone else ends up in a wheelchair.

4 weeks minimum but I would like to see a lot more. I think they will hit him with 2 though....

At the risk of hijacking this dying forum into the Goodes booing issue: An earlier poster listed a number of booable things that Goodes does or has done. The point is that there are many players who do that sort of stuff as much as he does. The thing is he gets continually booed and they don't. Why?

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
