Im actually working today so will have it on until 5 then check the results near the end of the game. Im expecting to lose and geelong should thrash a team like us, but hopefully we can give it a good contest and we compete and hawkins doesnt dominate like he usually does.

Heavy day of on-line gaming, is there a game on?

I'll be disappointed today if we can't compete in the midfield. We should have the better tap ruckman and we have our best midfielders in the side.

However, we have significant issues at both ends of the ground so I won't be surprised if we struggle to kick goals and lose because of it.

The way people are talking on here though, it's like we're taking the Casey seconds to Tasmania to play a full-strength Hawthorn side. Geelong of 2015 is nothing to be afraid of, even in Geelong. If we had our full strength side I'd be a lot more positive.

Agreed. Our midfield is actually pretty close to full strength and there is plenty of run there. If we can keep Hawkins quiet as well then we should be competitive.

We will probably struggle to kick more than 6-7 goals for the day, and we will need a big day from Garlett (who is due to kick a bag!) but no Hogan really hurts.

Dear Coach, please do not play Rohan Bail (44) in the forward line. He cannot hit the side of a barn. This is often a great disadvantage to Rohan and the rest of our team when Rohan is shooting for goal. He often seems to be the last man at the end of the chain of play going forward. This is often because the opposition dont bother to put a man on him because its not w...........

I went to a bar b que last night that was mainly full of South American expats. (the 'lads" got me an invitation) Anyway it was bloody freezing so I was wearing my Demons scarf. A couple of the gauchos engaged me in conversation and asked me, incredulously, If I actually followed Melbourne. When I replied in the affirmative they were very sympathetic and asked me how much I expected to lose by this weekend. These guys know bugger all about Aussie Rules and follow soccer. FMD!

If you were dressed like your avatar, maybe they were just scared and saying something to make you go away.

Will be a loss but won't be as bad as some think. They are missing enough players in key areas to keep us in the contest from the opening bounce. Will still be a 5-6 goal loss but not much more than that.

300th game for Enright? You think they might want to pummel the Dees again for old time sake?

Its more likely because he is the only one to run into the forward line....

I'm heading down today to watch my first afl game at skilled..

Absolutely gutted Hogan is out.. Just hope we are there abouts at 3qtr time..

They have a few injuries.. So who knows..

Jones will have to kick 3 today and have 35+ for us to have a sniff..

Hoping Toumpus fires again!

I think you missed that boat mate. Believe its Simonds stadium now - least they keep the same initials (Shell, Skilled, Simmonds).

Hope this isn't your last - not a good feeling getting thrashed at the cattery surrounded by a flock of agro grannies dissing your team.

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

It’s game day and the Demons return to Melbourne to play the Eagles at the MCG for the first time in over a decade. A win keeps the Dees finals hopes alive whereas a loss will almost certainly slam the finals window shut.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
