  1. If I'm in a spot where I can sneak out of Gate 4 (exit only) It's pretty smooth run through East Melbourne. Anything dealing with Wellington Pde or Punt Rd is a disaster. I've noticed they only have cops directing traffic on Wellington Pde the last couple of years, they used to be at all exits making the exit much swifter. (I'd drive / catch PT 5-50)
  2. The winning bay was one of the Premium Members' bays on level 2.
  3. Made it home, good to see a lot less pessimism on the boards than before the game. Fantastic game to watch and great to see a good turn out of Dees supporters down the highway, bearing in mind 28.000 was the biggest attendance at KP this season, sure Enright would account for a few more Cats fans but there was a good smattering of Red and Blue around the ground from the Players stand to the Gary Ablett Terrace. I'm sick of the BS "they only let 200 of us in" whenever we play there. That was a load of crap Sam Newman got stuck into us about over 10 years ago and it's stuck - the facilities then were absolute crap, unlike now, We'll see a few more wins this year, we need to remember we got smashed by Fremantle, Sydney and Hawthorn and were in winnable positions in other losses. These wins are no longer upsets.
  4. In the car now heading down for lunch then the game. Beautiful day, feeling optimistic.
  5. It's a myth the only allow 100 opposition supporters in. I bought tickets through ticketmaster.com.au earlier in the week Hundreds of seats plus GA still left then. And yes, as usual at Geelong I fully expect to be surrounded by Geelong supporters but this will be my 5th or 6th visit there. Saw the win, the draw and that loss plus a couple of others.
  6. http://www.vline.com.au/pdf/timetables/footy/afl3.pdf Has the footy special and one more. I think it's mostly hourly to Geelong on Sundays. The Myki calculator suggests $16.52 for an off peak adult return fare. It's also the first day of Regional Rail Link so you'll go via a new route. You'll only need to book if you decide to catch the Warrnambool train. Some of the comments in this thread are tiresome and we don't help ourselves with perceptions in the media and footy public. ?You want a ticket get on ticketmaster and buy one. There's still a couple of hundred reserved seats left plus GA. Personally, I think it stinks it's not included as an away game membership.
  7. Don't listen to commercial radio so haven't heard the annoying ad. As for the misguided Beyond Blue from May 2013, can't we blame Jeff for that one?
  8. So like us playing for the Ron Barassi Senior Cup, Trophy, Shield whatever it was we played for in the mid 2000s against the Swans on or near Anzac Day?
  9. So I've been hold to 1300 DEMONS for the last 90 minutes.... Apparently there's some cut off tomorrow for a prize, I just had a free moment to try and call to renew and sign up the better half. Edit: finally got through, renewing now!
  10. Etihad seemed to be giving out conflicting information regarding GA seating on level 2. Some tweets they had suggested it, the staff member at the start of the queue said there was some on level 2, the ticket seller said only between bays 30 something and 46 on level one, definitely no level 2, the usher on the aisle on level 1 said no. By quarter time, there were people sitting up there, surely they did all spend the mega bucks to sit up there. Finally, the reserved seat situation is a joke, to go from sitting on level 2 at the G for home games to being shoved down on ground level, unable to follow the play for an extra charge was a joke.
  11. You mean like this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I1makX05ymc And for your listening pleasure, another of Brady's best works... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=61t6DZY9CVM

  13. Keep an eye on this link closer to match day. GA areas will be posted there. http://www.mcg.org.au/Events/Upcoming%20Events/Event%20Details.aspx?eid=4cc85cce-ec8a-4200-8b99-7ac4c719cb18 For a home game this season against an interstate team you could reasonably expect M1-M12 be GA seating.
  14. I'll be there as usual, only real gripe is the reserved seat farce when we play there.
  15. Had the first oh-oh when I jumped on the footy special at Newmarket. Normally there's a few Demons fans I share a nod with but I was confronted by a sea of Black and Red wearing folk and a carriage full of eyes looking at me in my red and blue. Didn't see another Demons fan until I got to the gound, I saw a Tiger, a Kanga and even a Giant before I saw another Dee, I thougt I'd be in for a long night. Found a patch of Dees in the Ponsford right in front of some Essendon folk and settled in. Was shaking like a leaf the last 10 minutes, but what a releif when the siren sounded. None ofg my mates went, other engagements, glad I made it in. Got off at Newmarket with a restrained "Go Dees" to the carriage full of Bombers (once again I was the only one in Red and Blue) Oh and got home to realise I didn't set the PVR correctly, oh well at least I won't be scarred by listening to Taylor "commentate" an Essendon game.
  16. I have a reserved seat only to arrive and find a Hawthorn supporter sitting in it in the Tridents area. If only it were that simple.
  17. Replay 2:30am Wednesay morning (Tueday's TV listings) on ABC1.
  18. Were you there Friday? Did you notice the number of Hawks supporters sitting in our area? I had one sitting in my seat when I arived before the game, asked them to move they just shifted a few seats away. Security are useless and are more worried about creating scene then actually moving people out of our reserved area.
  19. Just had a look on Ticketmaster and it appears more seats have been released.
  20. I don't think words can express just how I feel today. No matter how much prepared one is fo such news, the moment it comes still hurts. Somehow I think we thought Jim was invincible, that somehow if anyone could overcome this it would be him. But alas it wasn't to be. I've dug out the 244 game badge and will wear it proudly tomorrow, I'll make sure I have some tissues in my pocket, as I'm sure I'll need them again. I encourage all of you who still have this badge to do the same.
  21. Never buy that argument, I get a GA ticket most years we play there, only the drawn match in 2006 from memory sold out before the bounce. Never seen any trouble either, but wouldn't pay the high reserved seat prices to sit in a sea of cats. The problem I see is the same supporters refusal to travel to Docklands. Be a shame when Geelong complete their ground and there'll still be just a smattering of MFC supporters looking like a game at Subiaco. Doesn't help when the Club treat it as an interstate game for the players and supporters either.
  22. According to today's email, jumpers ordered now should be available in late Feb.
