It's a shocking bench, let's be honest. The upside is that at full strength that entire group of seven would be at Casey.

I don't think we can play Spencer with Gawn, I don't really want to see what Terlich looks like at AFL level when he's not even coming off VFL form, so of the remaining five I'd drop Riley who gives us nothing.

That leaves us with Bail, M Jones, MIchie and ANB, any of whom could be the sub tbh.

The 3.20 pm was the killer for me.

Puts the game finish time at close to 6 pm on the shortest day of the year which means that if I stay to the end I'll be driving home on that dark godforsaken stretch of highway in a foul mood.

Still, I hope the boys can hear me cheering them on from the loungeroom while I watch the game on Foxtel.

Was considering going down to Simonds for the first time in my life... until I saw the time slot.

According to CH10 news the game is sold out, as it is Enrights 300th.....even more reason to avoid the place!

I only know one person who has taken more deliberate shots to the head than Joel Selwood and that was a girl from Brighton.

Spot on.

You know we are really scraping the bottom of the barrel when Dean Terlich has to be named on an extended bench.

Oh god.

10 goal loss (at least) coming up.

What shocking depth we have.

You write this almost as if our lack of depth is surprising to you.

We were always going to be in this position with a few injuries.

I like Riley, Spencer and Dawes in although not from all of a pure football management perspective.

And i think that's what you'll find. Good thinking by Roos to do it.

We have a few young blokes in there and old heads don't go astray metaphorically speaking

Given what the bench is I'd go with Riley as sub, M. Jones, Spencer & Terlich as emergencies with Spencer the carry over player.

I was initially calling for Michie to be dropped, but instead I reckon give him this game to rotate through midfield & half back. If he has another shocker he'll be VFL bound for the rest of the year.

They can't continue to drop Michie and bring him up every 2nd week and expect to make an impact. Give him 6 games in a row to see what he can offer. Im a fan of his and he has been unfairly treated.

Stretch in first 18 is notable

I reckon Stretch looks at home in the seniors. He goes missing a bit but once around the ball, his efforts are good and he doesn't seem rushed at all.

Michie I'm afraid doesn't impact with his possessions, doesn't tackle much and lacks a yard of pace. A limited footballer IMO.

You my full support chook for whatever it is worth

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
