I'm starting to think Ablett deserves his own separate thread here, just to acknowledge how often Viney beats him up.

The Gary Ablett Can't Stop Crying Thread .

Selwood played that up SOOOO much, Jack didnt get anywhere near his head and they got a free for High contact. Amazing follow up with Viney laying the tackle then eventually the Jonesy goal.

Selwood ... and those at The Pu55ycats who have learned from him, are just blatant bloody cheats. ... not that it helped them last night.

The media need to jump all over this one. Didn't touch his head but he flings it around like an Italian soccer player...

afaik no-one has brought up the fact that jack only had 66% game time, obviously managed as we opened up a decent lead

not a bad day's work considering he only played for 2/3 of the game

Half the team looked scared of him. It was like the scene in Stand By Me when they were running from the junk yard dog. Only the dog kept catching them.

Thats because they were.

That's one of the easier ones over and done with, and don't be surprised by a couple of other younger boys becoming interested in pushing a bit of the old art of "martialling" cue Oliver and Petracca......

He was on the bench for around 16mins at the start of the 3rd qtr from memory. They were saying on MMM that he was itching to get back on but because of the lack of goals and where the ball was being played they couldn't get a rotation ....Seems to have worked out OK....

Ablett is now soft as butter. No CPs in the first half. Avoided all contact and sat out the back getting cheap handballs or ran fwd of the ball looking for a chip kick.

The Holy Trinity BS has failed.

To be fair... Geelong didn't label themselves that.

It’s easy to forget how good jacks footwork is. He can get out of some crazy situations sometimes.

My favourite thing about him is when the opposition has a really good player he seems to want to hurt them. Even if it means giving the odd free kick away

Viney was BEST ON GROUND.  His spin and burst to kick to the hotspot was sensational.

Tackled like he had never been out.  He is still fresh and gives us the September push

And to think there were many, somewhat understandably, who thought hed never play again due to his foot.toe problems.

Straight back in and tearing apart two finals.   He is a SUPERSTAR.

The other side are scared to death of him.  You watch the replay and you will see Hawks players trying to avoid his tackles.  Same with the Cats last week.

He is a hero.   The toughest Demon of all time. (Old timers feel free to correct me).

In line with the thread title, Jack Viney made me cry last night. What a bull. My best mate, diehard bluebagger, is now in love with him as well.

Our best mid in two finals in a row...

Who thought he was a ‘one trick pony’ again?

Just doing what Jack Viney does.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
