Loved that game from Toumpas. For me the only mistake that gets to me is the shot he had on goal while on the boundary when there options in board. Got a bit carried away there. But he was hard and classy today. Used it well. Hope he stays in the team all year and really works into some consistent footy.

Vandenberg had huge presence in the midfield in the same way as Nat Fyfe. The way he just physically barges his way through packs and brushes off opponents with ease is something I have never seen for a long long time. Todd Viney maybe?

Riley can be the sub for the rest of the year if he keeps impacting like that. The guy is nutter1

Hogan just makes me moist.

Loving Fitzy owning the million dollar man! Surprisingly showed some poise too.

Jake Spencer was HUUGE! Best game by far in his career.

My man TOUUMP!!! Showed some real gut running effort and real class with his foot skills. This game should give him enormous confidence boost he needs.

Pedo is a gun. Dawes can stay in the VFL for all I care if Pedo keeps playing like this.

And to think we won without Tyson, Jetta, Viney, Frost, Trengove, Salem, Petracca Kent JKH... The future looks bloody good!

Hands up who said we wouldn't win.

Hand in the air

And it is so sore from hi five-ing everyone around me.

Spencer today played well gave us first use of the ball in the first half.

They played him differently in the third quarter and lowed his colours but he came back well in the last.

Never gave up alkl day and did a few nice things around the ground.

Di more around the ground than Jamar did in the first five games.

Now for Port in the Alice

According to Leight Matthews, Hogan has no game when the ball hits the deck.

What a win.

You know when Jake Spencer is bursting through the centre and hitting blokes on the [censored] it's gunna be our day.

I also noted that comment from Matthews. He says some stupid things.

Makes it easier to change a winning formula!

In Viney, Jetta

Out: Bail, M Jones (inj)

When Bail had that set shot at the end of the last quarter I knew he was going to shank it. He just can't impose himself I've seen it 2 many times. Whereas Garlett & Vince had very difficult shots that that they nailed. Different class Bail delist material.

Is Toumpas the only player that's not allowed to make mistakes?

Exactly. The captain made a couple of absolute shockers again that cost us goals. Toumpas is a lovely kick, he just needs to show a lot more composure at times.

I wonder if we set ourselves for this game as opposed to the last 3?

The Rev had a word to em mate. Said you only get 1 chance in this life.. take it.

So on Friday afternoon when I was still working my Bulldogs supporting boss says to me, as he was leaving, "Sorry about the game on Sunday"

What a [censored], can't wait to drape my scarf over his chair ready for when he walks in. Sucker.

Finally, there is no chat here about Watts' mistakes...probably because he didn't make any

He played fairly well I thought.

Not high possessions but he made each one count. Took his time and waited for the right option then made perfect passes.

Helped set up a few goals.

I really liked that in the pregame interview Roos gave him a bit of praise with: 'We need Jack's skills and class...you don't miss someone until they are not there and last week we missed him...glad he is back' or words like that.

A few more games like that and people won't be so critical.

I hope purple was watching, having made such a d... of himself with his stupid comments!

I think Lamumba will have to improve to hold his spot when Salem is over his injury.

His form is very ordinary.

Paul Roos disagrees with this

Roos: I thought (Lumumba) was just outstanding around the contest and spoiling - we just want everyone playing their role.

Riley was excellent as sub. One of his tackles (edge of the centre square, Doggies end) was downright scary. I remember he was good as a sub once or twice last year too. Keep him there for next week.

I thought the "Pig Dog" was sensational the last quarter his run down and tackling pressure were exactly what was required ! He stays in at the expense of Bail or Matt Jones!

Bail & Jones did their jobs. If you'd seen much of Footscray this year you'd know that so much of the Dog's attack this season has been generated by the run & distribution off half back by Murphy, Johanniesen & Wood. Our two "spuds" significantly reduced their impact. Good planning from Roos.

I thought Dunn had a good game too.

In the nicest possible way I am glad Tommy Mc wasn't best for us.

He played well but it means others carried their fair share of the burden.

With Jetta and Viney set to come in for obviously Bail and Jones.

Who goes out for Tyson?

It was a ghood win dd but lets not get too carried away. It was a win against the Dogs.

Also What makes you think Tyson will be available next week and Jetta has missed a few he might need a run at Casy next week.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
