Changes next week

He always plays well at VFL level and comes up to the AFL level and shits his pants and constantly turns the ball over. Constantly kicking across the face of the goals and having his passes intercepted. No thanks. Rather just get Neale Bullen in and start blooding the kids.

Would agree that JKH has to sit next week out. Play in the 2's. Every time he got the ball, he spilt it straight away.

Outs. JKH, Pedersen

Ins. Viney, Jetta

A few things:

On first glance the team balance might look out of whack with those changes but Jetta can slot straight back into defence. Howe can then move forward in place of Pedo. Viney straight swap for JKH.

Play Stretch as the sub and then sub Brayshaw off halfway through the third quarter as both show plenty of promise but don't yet have the tank to play four quarters. Brayshaw had 3 touches after half-time and Stretch 0.

Controversial opinion maybe, but I don't reckon Spencer was THAT bad. He at least broke double figures for possessions, better than Jamar's normal output. Give him another week. If he stinks it up against the Hawks, then trial Gawn for 2 weeks. If that fails, bring back Jamar and target a ruck at the end of the year (we probably will do this regardless).

JKH has been next to useless this year and Pedersen/Dawes are too cumbersome to play in the same side.

Out: JKH, Pedersen

In: Jetta, Jamar

JKH was a waste today. I though Pedersen was ok but we need to give Spencer another go. I'd have him as a sub with Jamar yo ruck a half and Spencer the other. We will then know who we persevere with.

Toumpas also to be given a final chance and I'd okay him on the ball more. He is too slow elsewhere and I want to see if he can be an inside mid.

I would not rush Viney back in for the Hawks. If Vince gets rubbed out or if Tyson is injured, then Riley comes in for me. Bail next in line after Riley.

Out: JKH , Pedersen

JKH - doesnt kick enough goals to retain his position as a small forward who struggles to apply forward pressure. Will come good just needs time.

Pedersen - Tries hard, can take a nice grab but is quite limited in his overall impact on games.

IN: ANB , Jetta

ANB - looked promosing in the VFL and i think deserves a shot in the seniors. (Barring a viney return)

Jetta - hopefully hes ready to slot back into the back 6

Give spencer another week. Howe is on serious notice, but he needs to play seniors to retain any trade value i guess.

In: Jetta, Viney (presuming fitness for both)

FB: Jetta Dunn Garland

HB: Salem McDonald Howe

C: Lumumba Jones Vince

HF: Watts Hogan vandenBerg

FF: Garlett Dawes Brayshaw

Foll: Spencer Tyson Cross

Int: Viney ???? ????

S: Stretch

Stretch was lively. Maybe back to the sub for a week against the Hawks then a full game against the Dogs.

Spencer may as well have a second go despite his atrocious first quarter

Watts can start again. The cycle continues

Take your pick from Pedersen, Newton, Toumpas or JKH. You can chuck Matt Jones, Bail, Michie, Riley, Gawn or any others from Casey in as well.

I'm usually totally opposed to Matt Jones but I'd get it if he was picked. Especially if Viney is back to add another inside mid we certainly needs outside run. I'd shift Vince in to the role and get Lumumba back on a wing (which is made easier by Jetta in to the backline). But if it's not to be that move then either Toumpas, Stretch or both stay or Matt Jones comes in. There's just a desperate need for that outside run and balance around the contest.

After watching Casey today I don't want to think about the depths of our shallowness.

Given that we've still got players in the MFC 22 who either aren't quite ready or aren't quite good enough, it shouldn't come as a surprise there are a bunch of players playing at Casey who aren't ready or aren't good enough.

We don't have the depth. I agree if Viney and Jetta are fit bring them in however any other changes are not going to change a thing. It's more than just skilled players we lack, it's that competitive nature and desire to not want to lose that we lack.

Didn't watch the game, checked on the scores online twice. Felt much better and more relaxed for not watching another sub par performance.

Neal Bullen Harmnes and White will hopefully be in the mix in the over the next month.

We have had a good chance to educate players against 2 great teams the last 2 weeks, Id go again and see if it pays off against the doggies. JKH stays in ( goal kicking practice thank you )as does Wattsy Spencil ( jesus lift ya game son ) and even the Toump .

If anyone comes out for injury and the three youngins mentioned above are not quite ready with loading id go with Bail Jamar or Fitzy.

I reckon Smith at Casey could add to our mix maybe we look at him next year as a rookie

I don't mind your team with Toumpas and Newton being the other two interchange.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form
