Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

The Incredible Hulk - Jesse Hogan

We average 40 inside 50's a game compare to the good teams who are getting around 60 inside 50's.

Not to mention the QUALITY of those entries and the fact that Hogan only has Dawes as a senior big man helping him out/taking away defenders. Imagine Hogan playing 3rd fiddle to Buddy and Tippet! Makes him seem outrageously good when you factor all this in. Sorry, lid on.

I was waiting for you to bring up the inside 50 count, maybe you have in another thread.

The most impressive thing is that he has rarely if ever had a clear, direct pass to him on the chest on the lead. He often cracks it and teammates who bomb it in long or too short. Most of his marks have been contested which says a lot because once we get the decent delivery we at least know he will still make an effort to make a contest when there isn't an opportunity for a clear mark.

“He’s [Frawley's] missed about a month of footy, so he’s going to be vulnerable, in terms [of his match fitness],” Dawes said “I imagine he’ll go to Jesse Hogan, [with] him being the No.1 forward, but if he comes to me, that’s certainly what I’ll be trying and do – work him around and try to exploit his lack of match fitness.”

This thread wasn't on the front page and I thought that was disrespectful to Jesse Hogan.

I love how he has 21 touches, 9 marks and 3 goals, which may well be as good a game as a key forward has had for us in a decade (and probably the most complete forward performance in the AFL this round), yet supporters are neither shocked nor surprised. I think we supporters may be getting 'superlative fatigue' with Jesse.

He's a 20 year old playing his 7th game. He's just just phenomenal.

Will finish with 40 goals and maybe a spot in our B&F top 5. He's played an important role in all of our wins so far. Kick it to Hogan more often and we'll win more times than not. Edited by Demon Jack

Bob that is so funny you should say that. I was thinking whilst at the game (after his brilliant effort to get around a player on the outer wing - no ground game Leigh, really?) that i can't wait for his 'break out game'. He just looks so rock solid.

3 lazy goals and 20 touches. His break out game will be a monster.

By the by i loved after we got a goal in the second (i think Newtons free kick goal) that came after jessie either dropped a Lumumba drilled pass or didn't quite get to it he went to HL and apologized. Also dirty on himself for dropping a couple. Love it.

I want him to kick 10 against Carlton.

Otherwise he's dead to me.

Just kidding. I love you Jesse. Don't ever leave me.

Made my night Jaded.

Thanks for the laugh.

That handball to Pedersen.... holy [censored].

Holy [censored]. I dont think this kid has a weakness in his game.

Leigh Matthews at one stage during the game was trying to tell listeners it was when the ball was on the ground.

Pre-amazing handball.

Is it possible to love Hogan too much?

His work rate is phenomenal. The handballing, ground level work. It's hard to keep track of him as he can lead anywhere and be a target within a few seconds.

His hair is terrible.

Does that help reduce the love?

Get a haircut Jesse, sick of your shenanigans

I'm sorry Jesse, I don't mean it, I love you so much. Your hair is fine.

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n
