GAME DAY, ROUND 3, 2015

I reckon Adelaide are getting far too ahead of themselves. At some point a side's going to bring them back down to Earth with a massive thud.

It won't be us if we don't show up like we did against GC. If we hit them hard with pressure and we are able to get some fluid ball movement off half back, then I reckon we're every chance. Problem is, if we slip from that requirement even a little, they'll most likely belt us. Not sure there's any middle ground, we either take it right up to them or lose by 10 goals.

I was feeling more than slightly morbid about our chances until I read this thread, but the optimism shining through in some of the posts has lifted my spirits to some extent. What a wonderful place this is ...........sometimes!

Games aren't won on paper or reputation. Sure adelaide look strong over the past few weeks, But any team can beat anyone on their day. It's breezy and overcast in adelaide and showers are forecast. Who knows what this funny game can throw up.

About to head into the oval shortly...

Pretty s.hitfull morning here in Adelaide... Drizzle and breeze is starting to pick up...

Took my son down to see the lads have a short session yesterday when they arrived...

Jones doing his own thing separately from the main group... I think he'll play as he looked to be moving freely...

Quite a jovial bunch and looking pretty relaxed out there...

Angus Brayshaw's reaction when my son asked him to sign his guernsey was priceless... Walking down the race, heard his name, looked around and his reaction was almost like "Oh yeah, that's right, I'm an AFL player now!" Haha...

Jack Watts (my lads fav) is King of the Kids! Will make a great father when his time comes... Right now I just want him to be a great footballer though :)

A lot of family in the crowd for Hulk... I have a feeling he will crush bodies like a beast today! After watching McCartin last night it makes me think we've got an absolute ripper in JH...

Do we win today?

Viney is a huge loss! In my opinion it could be the difference...

Hope I'm wrong!

wouldnt it be nice to replicate last years result?

The thing is this year we have a stronger team with our recruits but unfortunately adelaide have just flown out of the blocks. Tommy on Tex will be a great matchup that will be good to see. I just feel losing Jack has really really hurt us.

But we will see. I just hope for a 4 quarter effort. In our 8 quarters of footy we have only play 2 bad ones.

I asked my 5 year old nephew how much we would win by - he said 100 and thousand points. I'm going with that.

So he thinks we will take the foot of the pedal in the second half?

Seriously hope I am wrong, but the number 37 has been on my mind this morning. I hope not, but I think the Crows will win by around that margin.

I wouldn't worry about it. It's just the big fella from upstairs saying "g'day" and to "keep the faith." He is rarely far from all our thoughts too...

I am expecting a tough 4 quarter game. I am expecting to lose .

Agree. I am also realistically not expecting a win, but if we don't give a 4 quarter effort, we will not improve in the short term.

Every player should be able to try and there is no excuse for not trying.

We're playing a team that finished 11th last year. Dangerfield is a star, Sloane is a bloody good player but he's not a star. They too have some very young players and some veterans. Need Jamar to try and break even with Jacobs.

Every player plays their role. Can't afford for the midfield to nod off. Believe in the game plan. Back each other in.

This is a winnable game.

Sick of this defeatus crap.

Would be a major boil-over if we did win.

I thought the Suns would belt us in Round 1.

Going in looking for small wins, glimmers to savour as i digest another defeat...

OMFG the odds have drifted out to $9.75

I seriously can't remember seeing us being that long

Melbourne 1-9 pts = $21.00

The only way something amazing could happen is this:

Humiliated, embarrassed and ashamed by last week's atrocity, the whole group has a fire in their belly, and a determination to prove to their coach, their fans and the rest of the comp that they are a real football club.

Sadly, I don't think this group has the character to think like that, and Roos has not made much headway instilling it thus far in his tenure. We shall see.

We were around these odds a few times last year...

When Roos was employed to coach the club, many people (myself included) asked the question what's the ratio of coaching, gameplan as opposed to building a culture. So far under Roos we've had two really good trade/draft periods. Roos said himself last year the focus was on defence. This year we put some attacking structures in place, we can do this now that our defense has improved out of sight and that we now have multiple attacking options. With regards to building a culture we have come to play every week, not because we lost the week before or its a milestone game or someone has passed. North and Richmond strike me as teams that play for an occasion as opposed to playing every week and the bubble normally bursts about qtr time.

Rain has passed, overcast but should be pretty fine throughout. Good to see quite a few Dees fans on the plane and getting about the city. I have two very excited boys with me for their first ever footy trip interstate, first visit to adelaide, their first win at Adelaide oval is the plan.

Must say I read the P Walsh story in the paper today, seems a very mature, well thought bloke, no wonder they've started well.

Go Dees.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
