Really disappointing to give one straight back to them.

Need to get this quarter finished with. It hasn't been our best.

Viney and t mac fighting it out for bog with hogan not far behind

The game is definitely not in the bag but we are looking pretty good overall

Pity we gave one back to them, but at least we won the quarter.

Not sure whether GWS got better or we got comfortable/lazy/worse, but the inside 50s dried up after about 10 minutes in.

Nathan Jones having his worst game in memory and we still have a handy lead, good signs

Very ordinary quarter, lost our intensity at the ball, and stopped running past the ball carrier. We can't defend this lead playing that way, so need to hunt and attack. Odds only slightly our way now, if at all.

Yes it was very ordinary but at least this years ordinary quarter we still won! Hopefully we can come back out after half time and get back into it!

Bit harsh I would have thought. The last half of the second quarter was ordinary but we've dominated them up to that point.

Half time came at the right time for us and we can reboot and reload for the second half.

I get the feeling we were a little lethargic there. Just a step slower to the contest than we were in the first and it showed. Hopefully we can come out after the break and put them away once and for all.

Hopefully that is our down quarter and now we lift. Jones and Newton have many more gears left in them today. Same with Tyson. Viney having a really great game. 3rd year break out?

Need to come out after HT with the same flare we eased ourselves into during Q1.

If we can start the next half with 2 quick goals I'll feel a bit more confident. Win the next quarter though and I'd say the game is ours to lose.

Don't know who has a more punchable head out of Toby Greene and McCarthy.

And he loves to duck the head and drop the knees looking for free kicks does Toby Greene. Annoys the hell out of me.

It's a pretty even contribution from most of the boys but the backmen are doing a sterling job, as is Jamar.

The spread dropped off a bit in that second term as well.

If we can get an overall collective lift we will be the better team.

Need to get Jones and Tyson into the game, but as importantly get H running and get the ball to him in space.

With Tomlinson out of the game when their resting Mumford we need to make sure we dominate the hit outs and clearances.

Kent and Jeffy need to get in their bikes early in the quarter and pressure pressure pressure.

Jack Viney has taken a massive step forward in his development, looks a class above to me and his tackling is amazing

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
