So would I, but my first offer would be 6

Haha, fair enough.

I just wouldn't play around with him. I wouldn't try to low ball him, I'd just offer him the bigger deal. Each to their own, I guess.

Just imagine the player Hogan will be with a competent midfielder feeding him. Could be the next 80+ goalkicker.

Correction: competent midfield (plural)

Bryce Gibbs having a sook on twitter about the rising star. LOL

Jesse would eat this softcck alive.

Did you see Cartlon Twitter handler message the AFL when Hogan won saying "You got your wish".... Whoever runs the social media team down their at Carlton are arrogant twats... Not only do their marketing department come up with ridiculous and self-indulging campaigns like "Can you smell what the blues are cooking" and "They know we're coming" But I also remember a few years ago when one of their players didn't get a rising star nomination, and they took it to Twitter to vent their frustration as well..

Can some one link then, I couldn't see them on carltons Twitter.

Was it the official Carlton Twitter?

Had a look at their Twitter handle and couldn't find anything other than congrats to him and Jesse, although they might've deleted the tweet.

I think most people agreed that whoever won, Cripps or Hogan, they both had amazing years. Cripps will be a star, Hogan will be a star.

EDIT: Gibbs you are a [censored], but I agree it's a joke. It was a joke the it took until round 9 before Jesse finally got nominated. But the other joke is that Cripps and Hogan will both be better than anything you could hope for. Idiot.

Hilarious coming from the softest player in the AFL. [censored] Gibbs, show some class.

Didn't he kick up a stink when a former player tweeted about him laying a tackle (for the sling tackle on Gray)?

Lol yeah I remember that.

I think Titus O'Reilly had some great tweets on it as well.

Good times.

Simply sensational. Congratulations to him and all at the club who busted their butts to try and improve over the year and get plenty of ball to our Rising Star. We may not be consistently good at delivery i50 compared to the higher ranked clubs...yet.

But we must have done something right! Most likely our conversion rate as we ranked a lowly 16th in both i50s and marks i50. Oh hang on....the Hulk! Ranked 6th of all current day players (and 13th vs all players past and present day from 1965 till now!) in goal kicking conversion with a whopping 69.84%! That's just above the greatest FF of all time, plugger, who finished on an amazing 69.74% in 16th place (rankings based on players who had, or have had, a minimum 50 scoring shots at goal throughout their career. Courtesy: afltables.com)

Lets hope we can build some momentum out of this positive news and finally start stringing a few wins in a row together next year. Watching the Hulks progress is gonna be interesting. 2nd year is usually the toughest for most new blokes. Fingers crossed.

This was his second year...which means next year he's going to be truly awesome.

There's arguments for both players to have won the award, but it was all but unanimous - Hogan 49 votes from a possible 50.

Highest ever polling in the award, I think?

Correct. Although they haven't always had ten judges awarding votes.

Where can I find all his post winning interviews, missed most of them.

From what I read here, Jesse admires the ability of his team mates to go when it's their turn and to put their head over the ball- congratulating Brayshaw and Viney for these traits. It's clear that Jesse wants to play in a team of competitive hard-arses. If you don't put in, and give it 100, you are at risk of being dropped from Jesse's team.

Culture changer. Most important recruit in my life time, thanks god we got our house in order just in time for the arrival of Christ.

Lastly thanks Neeldy- who would have thought it would be one of your moves that would bring this club back into relevancy? (And thanks Scully)

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
