  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

his a star simple he will be in the top 5 in B#F. he is hard, he can find the footy, and he knows were the goals are, he is as good as colin sylvia but he has work ethic, and i think you will see him play well week in week out, and before any body rubbishes col don't, he was a gun but no work ethic.

Imagine once he has had another one or two pre-seasons. He could actually be anything, he has some great attributes- speed, strength, height, aggression. I don't like to get overly excited but he just seems to thrive on the contest which is great for us moving forward. I am very happy with a number of our young players who thrive on the contest also- Hogan, Salem, Brayshaw.

did you see Tyson giving it to him after he gave away that reversal?

You could hear on TV him saying "for F... sake mate, for F... sake"

When Cross got taken high in the third, you could hear a Dee calling a tiges player an "effing weak dog"

Reminds me a bit of Kevin Dyson's arrival - a few years of maturity, big body, big kick

He's a bit quicker than Kev but not a bad comparison.

Hah! yeah right and tell me where is this gun playing now?

Walked out on the club when nobody else gave him a chance.

That was Lumumba to Rance after dive/flop number 327 on the night.

About the only bit of H's work I enjoyed on the night.

I was just reading Prince's self help book.It doesn't seem like he practices what he preaches on the field.

Yeah, 'twas a tad nasty from the humanitarian of the millennium.

I'd like him to come and spend time with my dog, to see how dogs are not weak at all. He needs to be more understanding.

you want him to practise "peace" and "love" on the field? I sure don't.

I don't either,it was just an observation.I'm wondering who the book is targeted to as I don't think there are too many new age Collingwood supporters out there.

vandenBerg - a classic example of the massive positive difference in list management since Roos has been at the club.

Clearly Roos has a great network of smart footy people.

Can only hope it continues when Roos is gone.

At the risk of hyperbole I'd almost go as far as saying the vanMan is a candidate for "smokey of the draft" award.

I really like watching him play. With some players you almost wonder as to results when ball in hand or nearby. With mint-man pulse quickens , mouth salivates. This kid is 'footy player' in spades. Great find :)

He reminds me very much of a younger Paul Chapman. His tackling gives me goosebumps. It's been a long time since a demon has tackled like him. He's pretty measured with his aggression too.

Col is where he is now because of his work ethic, not his ability to play, vanderman has all the skills Col has, if you want to compare who he plays like, then he is close to Col but he has work ethic that Col lacked, which hopefully we will see a better player. Edited by not angry anymore

It was tongue in cheek. I said earlier I enjoyed his slur.

Every time someone gets caught saying something nasty on the field the old that they need to sit down X type people etc...

He's a gun selection, looking forward to a few more of them over the years. The rookie draft has been a resource this club has considerably mishandled for many years.

Does the credit go to Jason Taylor?

I think we've done ok with Rookies. Jamar, Junior, Robbo, Bruce, even Nev although he's a special case. I don't know how we stack up in terms of the number of rookies we keep, but we've had some pretty good quality ones over the years.

Steady, Jordie Mc led the AFL tackling a couple of years ago, and Nev Jetta and Dawes are ferocious as well, I told Aaron today the next big tackle on Sunday I want the guy into the seats not just over the line, wore a NSW shirt in his honour today which he found hilarious

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,
