Who gives a stuff.

This thread should be not on our web site.

When I read the title I thought you were referring to Tommy McD.

The OX on SEN hinted that we might make a play for Scully after his contract expired.

Putting emotions aside for a moment. Its a no. Why not target someone who will make a difference?

With emotions involved, he can get stuffed.

Thread title needs to be changed. I also thought Tmac was injured.

missed 7 games last year and didn't feature in the top10 of the BnF

They are probably more likely to miss Tim Mohr (recruited from Casey right under our nose)!

He wouldn't get a game. haha

Scully's a living Melbourne legend compared to that disloyal f log in Clark.

Both will live in infamy

PS Scully's 2015 average supercoach ranking rates him as 191st best player in the comp, GWS' 10th overall

Thought this had something to do with Tom Mac visiting the Cadbury factory or something.

Instead it's about that twerp that we were going to give an blank check to. Lord, what a good thing he did by leaving us. They end up with Scummo and Phat Phil, we end up with Tyson and Hogan.

I'll shake that overpaid hacks hand if we ever meet.

It was a big win for MFC, one of the few we have enjoyed in recent years. Good luck to the guy, he has set himself up for life. Just shows the national draft system is a dud.

I don't get why people still have their knickers in a bunch about Scully. He accepted the offer of a lifetime, which nobody in their right mind would have knocked back given how short the average AFL career is. Look at Trengove - we all admire his loyalty, but he could well be out of the game by the end of the season, and what are his income prospects for the rest of his life? And with two first round picks in return, we hardly lost out over the deal.

Who cares if Scully said he was staying during the season? He could have said he was leaving, but do we really want to operate like the NRL where half the team has signed to play elsewhere by mid season? Franklin supposedly met with Sydney the day after Hawthorn lost the 2012 GF, but it didn't stop him being a decent player in 2013.

It's more about HOW he did it P.

He is still very high on my dislike list.

How would you have done it?

Players in this environment have no viable choice but to lie in my opinion.

Geezuz thought this was about Tom Mc

Seriously move on people. TS got offered too much money (not his fault), we got paid overs for the compo (regardless of how we used it) and we didn't need to cough up huge coin to keep him (which we were going to do via 3rd party arrangements that got shot down).

I'd rather the current reality to one where we kept an overrated player.

Re-read Scully's first presser when he went in front of the camera's - I want to be a one club player and anticipate this will be the case - look at how he responded when asked how can he resist a huge money overture...Read Jimmy's book and see what he said to him

I have no problem with him talking the deal of the lifetime - but I disagree with he had no other choice- he didn't need to lie.

GAJ to me is the model I would take where you don't lie

GAJ steadfastly refused to buy in and for this I admired him. He continually refused to answer any questions whatsoever except to say I will make my decision at the end of the season.

It drove Bomber Thompson mad and I am sure the cat supporters were apoplectic as we on Demonland would have been.

If you want to explore free agency or a put contract talks on hold, keep schtum....say nothing.. "I will make my decision at seasons end" - good enough for me. You don't need to lie.

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
