Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Seriously can't believe they wouldn't live in it for twelve months so they can avoid capital gains tax.

What are they thinking ?!?!!??

Or maybe this is one of the ways they have chosen to repay their debt to society ?

Maybe they don't know any competent lawyers?

This is an excellent case of having a dog and barking yourself.

I suspect they don't want to accept the legal advise because that is admitting you are wrong.

So the number of players left at Essendon from the 2012 doping saga is down to 17: Essendon 34 won't play in NAB Challenge

The funny thing is that a number of those players have already been named publicly by Mark Robinson in the Herald Sun so why the big deal about protecting the anonymity of the players?

Boycott games after afl offers solutions = bringing the game into disrepute, breach of contractual agreements, I'd expect punishments to be fairly harsh

The ones named by Mark Robinson are already in the public domain so not sure why they are trying to protect confidentiality. Another example of the parallel universe they inhabit over at essendrug

Jobe Watson, Dyson Heppell, Michael Hurley, Tom Bellchambers, Jake Melksham, Heath Hocking, Michael Hibberd, Kyle Hardingham, Tayte Pears, Alex Browne, Stewart Crameri, Scott Gumbleton, Ricky Dyson, Sam Lonergan Angus Monfries, Paddy Ryder

It wouldn't be hard to work out the rest,,,,,

How on earth are they not bringing the game into disrepute with this childish and embarrassing behaviour?

Why the hell are other teams constantly forced to suffer due to the illegal decisions made BY ESSENDON, BY HIRD, BY THE PLAYERS?

Farcical. And oh, so typical of the AFL to do absolutely nothing about it. Where's Eddie when you need him? He'd be absolutely ropeable if his team had to miss out on a practice match just because of Essendon's pathetic behaviour.

I say the entire team, and every player participating in the boycott, should be fined the absolute maximum allowed under AFL rules. Exactly the same as if a team boycotted a home and away match.

If players on list in 2012 sit out NAB Challenge, what might Essendon’s team look like?

POSSIBLE ESSENDON NAB CHALLENGE TEAM

B: Shaun Edwards, James Gwilt, Kurt Aylett

HB: Jayden Laverde, Jason Ashby, Martin Gleeson

C: Will Hams, Adam Cooney, Orazio Fantasia

HF: Paul Chapman, Shaun McKernan, Patrick Ambrose

F: Kyle Langford, Joe Daniher, Zach Merrett

R: Jon Giles, Brendon Goddard, Nick Kommer

Inter: Conor McKenna, Jake Long, ?, ?

Now this is pretty funny stuff......if you think about it !!!

That may not be the worst goal to goal line in the AFL

St Kilda are in the same boat and are also wondering who they wil play! Why don't we play them twice as an easy solution?

AFL must uphold provisional suspensions given to Essendon 34 players, approve top-ups for Bombers’ NAB Challenge fixtures

There's much discontent amongst the rest of Australia's sporting world....and rightly so

Right, good, work with it! THAT day was it hot? what could you smell, hear? Reconnect with THAT day . . relive the incidents, a head high charge, a cowardly punch, that feeling of revultion, the horror, the horror it's still lives inside of you . . reconnect with your inner hater. You'll be fine!

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n
