Alternative strip for 2015?

My guess is the new clash will have the monogram on it.

Which is what i reckon we should go with. The training top with the monogram seems to be universally liked (at least on DL). Perhaps the dark blue is a problem, but the red monagram on a white background (perhaps with dark blue around collar, yolk and shoulders) would work

Hawthorn has that awful white number with the Hawk head on the left hip.

If you don't get that red right, it is akin to the white in my opinion. I don't think 'our' red is a very light one. So if it a lighter colour we need, it might no be the answer.

Decent suggestions though.

what gets me about all of this is the hypocrisy of clashing in the first place and then the dubious and different treatment some teams get.

below are actual 'clash " strips from 2014 :

not a whole lot of WHITE happening there !!!

Still the last one , the Doggies , is interesting to me. A team who is predominantly Blue with some red is now predominantly red with some blue...and both a dash of white.

if thats the case why cant we change from mainly blue to mainly red as follows ( have posted before )

Also in the ridiculous hyprocisy of all this the Hawks wear their alternative guernsey against Richmond

This sees the Hawks going from a jumper with a yellow (light colour) back and brown number against a predominantly black (dark colour) guernsey to

a Brown (dark colour) guernsey with a yellow number against the Tigers black (dark)

Meth Coast wore light blue against us at the G last season but we have to wear white against them at Subi, I understand their home guernsey is predominantly navy blue but don't see any issue with a red alternative against them

To be fair, North Melbourne's home jumper is predominantly white, so of course their alternative is going to be predominantly not white. Hawthorn, West Coast and the Bulldogs all have white jumpers in addition to the coloured jumpers you've provided here, whilst Essendon has their grey jumper (did they even wear that wider-red-sash one this year?).

Richmond is the only real exception - an issue which came to a farcical head in the finals.

However, a fair point rests with the Dogs - if they are able to wear a red jumper where their blue is a clash but there is no need to avoid red, I don't see why we couldn't do the same. Use the red alternate jumper where possible and only wear white if red has to be avoided in addition to blue.

Forgive my quick editing in photoshop, but just wanted to highlight my point of just reversing all teams colours. There'd be no issue with the clash of any strips then. Throw an MFC monogram on this or make the shorts white etc, just think it's pretty simple and keeps our traditional design.

So when we play Collingwood, does Dane Swan or Nathan Jones have to do something to stop their tattoos from clashing?

In regard to the Dogs we wore our traditional jumper against their traditional jumper in our game at Etihad last year and in the earlier game in the year we wore our Womens Breast Cancer round jumper.

Against Meth Coast in round 2 we wore our traditional jumper whilst they wore their royal blue alternative.

The AFL make rules on the run re this clash strip as shown in the Elimination Final Richmond vs Port debacle

Hi all, long time reader new poster. I e-mailed the club about this topic today and they replied with,

"Our 2015 jumpers will be released within the next week so keep an eye out on our website for the images. I think that our members and supporters will be pretty happy with them for next season".

so yay! not long to wait to see them. I spoke about the MFC monogram and not wearing a white jumper because we are the red and the blue in the e-mail, so hopefully the bolded bit is alluding to this.

I actually really like this one, I've wanted a simple reverse of the colours for a long time

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well …

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
