WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JEFF GARLETT

Garlett carries little coin and more of a risk. Hes being given the heave ho by Mouse. You dont cough up second rounders for that. Hes a bit of interest, not central to any success at Melbourne. Hes a "yeah we'll take him but ....."

He obviously got the wrong side of Mouse and the Scum want rid of him........ well played there Blue baggers !!!

We're not giving up a second rounder, we're downgrading our second rounder 5 spots in that scenario.

Can someone tell me, as we delisted Blease can he in fact still be traded?

He hasn't been delisted yet as far as I know. He has been kept on the list to fulfill his purpose at the Demons: as a sweetener in a pick 78 for Garlett deal.

what does this mean for JKH?

Jay Kennedy-Harris means: The one who will be King, he who has laughed on Neighbours, and whom is not only gifted, but multi-talented. And gifted.

Dee's obviousley looking for pace and players who can break the lines.

I'm happy with Gartlett and Lumumba as they both have those attributes we lack...

I'm just hoping we don't trade Picks 2 & 3!

Brayshaw & McCartin should be lock.

Sam Frost is the only other player we need to secure for a great trading and draft period.

Add Billy 'The Kid' Stretch.

Hands up if your happy with that?

fair enough ..I still would prefer a lower pick...or 4th rounder and a player etc.

Still ..the club will do what it sees fit. They are much better at this game now thank god :)

I can actually see JKH being more of a midfielder than a specialist small forward.

I think he lacks the raw pace that many of the best small forwards have. What he has got though is the ability to make good decisions (especially by hand) in traffic, a really underrated skill of a good midfielder.

I can see him in more of a 2014 Ben McGlynn role (midfielder who can rotate as a small forward) than a pure small forward.

I have no idea where I read it but I think the club is grooming JKH to BE a middy....building a tank from the fwd work etc.

Apparently we're trying this new thing in sport......."develop..........something or other " !!!^_^

Would love Garlett at the dees!

My brother's a blues supporter so I've watched quite a few Carlton games over the years and Garlett was one of my favourite AFL players to watch around 2010 - 2012 when they were around top 8. Has blistering pace and love to tackle, remember some great run-down tackles. Very exciting news!

I can still see pick 3 being traded for a downgraded round one pick and an established midfielder to be honest.

Im gonna say it - I think Carlton are mad getting rid of Garlett. the Betts/Garlett combo around 2010 to 2012ish was incredible to watch. I watched a lot of Carlton games in that time and I would often think to myself why cant the demons have a player with that burst speed and total goalsmarts in our side.

Enter a new coach and a perception of attitude problems and he's gonna be ours possibly for almost nothing.

This is gonna be way bigger than some here realise. He is an under-rated gun - just like HL.

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
