Liked it, quite creative IMO.

Doesn't make a difference to my intention however, they could tell me to get stuffed and I'd still join.

That's the point. I think like most of us on here. So what is the target market then? If there is one; that is.

If they want to be blatant about what they are trying to achieve... can I suggest a different imagery

Picture if you would... a number of our stellar types pounding the pavements.. all very pumped and seriously like... as they do a few more of the team join. As they run they can see the G in the distance...a beacon beckoning . Its somewhat overcast and drizzling. As they run they pass various people all sitting on a fence (or similar ) the allegory is deliberate.

As the team pass the onlookers the players look upon them and encourage them to get off the fence and join them as they make their way to the G. Some do , some don't,(sheepish guilty looking types ..lol ) gradually the numbers swell and they all end up running up the race and into the G. The stadia light s blazing and then just as wondrously as it is that so many have joined in belief, have bought ( literally ) into the journey the lights switch off and the sky's brooding and formidable darkness are replaced by sun and light. What could only be seen before as muted tones of colour now emblazon the G with red and blue as everyone's previous non-descript clothing turns into some form of team supporter gear.

The throngs mingle and join as one in a knowing sense of committed devotion as the warriors before them present themselves in all their buffed demeanor. All players make a stride forward but one ( Chunk ) takes an extra step an in a very 'in your face' type of presentation simply asks "How Melbourne are you in 2015?"

I won't talk about the production values or the actor's performance but at least it wasn't historical BS or aimed at crusty old coots who call out 'Good kick number 9'.
I have always reckoned we have needed to appeal to a wider audience. The ad itself was passable but I like the strategy.

I tried to renew online, but it seems to provide no other option than to renew with automatic subsequent renewals, no doubt intentionally, which I don't want. So I'll wait for the renewal offer in the mail and hope that it doesn't also insist on me accepting ongoing automatic direct debit renewals.

I like to have the option to renew each year, just in case the team becomes uncompetitive one day, and no longer attractive to follow :)

I reckon its pretty good. Left field, visually appealing, and well produced. But it doesn't make me renew - I just renew because I love the Dees, can't help myself.

Definitely aimed at the under 30 age-group which could be a mistake. We have hardly won a game in their lifetime.

#@V30 = epic fail

the fence sitters, the disenfranchised aren't the under 30's. they are the 40-60 yo who are faced with lifestyle choices and re-prioritise things to suit.

The ad needs to speak to them

Sorry. Lame.

No football content. A totally impersonal add, only one character, and they are utterly grey and ordinary.

Not only that, but they are an utterly grey and ordinary... baseball fan.

Taking the New York Yankees thing a bit literally?

I liked it (already joined as part of the MCC package) but then again I saw something in Lucas Cook.

Joined up Redlegs again today!

Discovered we now have a 'digital membership'. I only found it by accident so here is the link http://membership.melbournefc.com.au/packages/view/202/Digital+Armchair+Membership

It can be purchased on its own or at a discount as an add-on to a game membership. You can watch all games live...

You can watch all games live...all I need to do now is work out if I can connect my android tablet to my smart TV so I can watch games on full sized screen!

To go into raffle for 2 airfares join up by Oct 31. BTW there are 17,455 members as of today, Target of 40,000!

...2015, Go Dees

Ooooh, very interesting.

I'm trying to find more details, is it all games or just all dees games?

It'll probably use the same feed as the Telstra app though, which was horrible.

Sport in HD? NAAAAAHHH who needs that?

Already did it.

Ticket master site a bit cumbersome but light years ahead of what it used to be.

$60 - and I won't have to buy the AFL one again, and it goes to the Dees. All good.

17,455 already

That seems like a very high amount tor the MFC considering November hasn't even hit yet

Or maybe its normal for this time of year, can someone do a compression if possible?

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
