I don't care how small he is. He clearly is very talented, I havnt got any stats or information on him other than this highlights package (which obviously are always flattering) but I would be ready to pick him up, hopefully someone does and he doesn't miss out because of his height.

I watched a couple of games online that he played in. Got to say that I loved his endeavour and hard-at-it approach. Got some endurance and seemed to be good by hand and foot. If he doesn't get picked, I hope it's not because of his height.

If he was 6'1' he'd go 1 or 2, wouldn't mind using our 4th rounder on him.

I'd throw a second rounder at him.

unfortunately, as one poster (can't remember who) reported on the Roosy's pie night thread, Caleb isn't even on our radar. A shame, I will be watching his career with interest.

I have just watched this video and I've got to say his highlights are the best I've seen.

He has vision, is a deadly accurate kick and when he needs to roost it, he roosts it at least 50m which makes him the equal or better than almost every current Demon.

He has quick hands, tackles well and appears to have speed and he's a nice mark.

So why isn't he in the mix for No.1?

There's 168 centimetres of reason for that, but sometimes you have to give these kids a go - just look at Boomer Harvey.

If he was slow, I could understand why he would be ruled out, but he's not.

He'd be well worth a late pick and would be an instant cult hero if he played - and god help us we need one of those having missed the last freakshow boat that sailed called Nic Naitanui.

Roosy is against small guys because he wants midfield grunt. But Caleb is ideal for up forward and actually can read where to crum the ball and his vision under pressure would make him a rarity at our club.

Totally agree with all that Deespicable. Hope he slips through to the RD and we give him a chance, but I think he'll go late 2nd round or early 3rd.

When I glanced at your post, I thought your user name was leprechaun, which is very fitting for this thread...

If we do recruit him, I hope someone has a camera on Picket Fence's face when the name is called. ;)

Can't wait for the nickname avalanche.

Seems like a legit player though.

It is interesting, but smaller guys tend to fall on draft day. I remember reading several reports about JKH being a top 25 prospect, and almost a lock to go early second round. He fell to us early 3rd round, and although he has some work to do on his game he provided some exciting moments and was certainly a good get at pick #40. That said, JKH is 175cm, Caleb Daniel is 167cm which is really small by AFL standards.

Haven't seen much of Caleb Daniel, however if his skills are as good as the video suggests he should find himself a home outside of the first 3-4 rounds.

Been a while since we have seen the Nathan Bourke style Helmet at AFL level. I wonder if Daniel can make that his trademark.

Two first names? It's a no from me.

Agree,if he has 2 first names,we dont want him,NEXT

The concern with Daniel as a small forward is whether he would put enough goals on the board in that role.

He’s been a reasonable possession winner for South Adelaide’s senior team, but I think he’s averaging under a goal a game. If his role is designated small forward, you’re taking a flier on him.

I think he has some excellent traits as a midfielder, but I’m sure the question Roosy would ask is, how is he going to win a clearance against Fremantle?

I’d be more than happy for the club to use a late pick to find out, because he has so many good features to his game.

Prestia, Taylor and Daniel all looked likely types in the Nationals.

I'd expect Daniel will go in the first few rounds - probably late 3rd round.

He is that good that I cannot see sides risking him to go into the rookie.

We could be looking at him, I wouldn't pay much attention to Roos saying he hasn't heard of him.

Daniel was a standout player in the champs, I'd be astounded if Roos hadn't heard of him.

At his size he needs really high end pace, because he's stuffed if anyone is able to get close enough to make contact with him. I don't think he has that real express pace at AFL level.

Ran a 16.1 in the beep at the combine. Would love to see him get a chance somewhere.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 19th February 2025

Demonlander The Analyser was the sole Trackwatcher out at Casey Fields today to bring you the following observations from this mornings preseason training session. Training  was at Casey today. It consisted of a match simulation for one half  and then a free choice activity time. Activities included kicking for goal,  aerial , contest work etc. I noticed the following players not in match simulation Jack Viney  running laps and looks fine for round one . I think Kolt looks like he’s im

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
