give the man a cigar for outstanding perspicacity

I just replied because I love that word. awesome!

Goodness me, is Dangerfield a Demon yet? I can't keep opening this thread. Just cut out the middle man, give Adelaide 2, 23, Trengove and Toumpas for Dangerfield, Lyons and 10, then hurl 3 and 10 to Collingwood for Beams and 48, then 48 to GWS for Frost, Clark on his bike for Lumumba and 55, head to the draft with 55 and change for Stretch and Jetta. Robert's your uncle, Franny's your aunt.

Nice thinking there

Well, Geelong have an hour left to do the same!

Just spoke to Paddy. Said, he'll only sign if this thread reaches 150 pages. Wanted to test the true passion of supporters before committing to the club.

Well, you know what to do boys

So.... I hear that Dangerfield fellow is a free agent next year... at the same time as Tex Walker and Rory Sloane....

Methinks they cant pay all 3 a million each. :)

Acquire Dangerfield this year via trade, acquire another (Sloane or Walker) next year via Free Agency, then finals here we come!

Methinks Tex might seek greener pastures if the Crows stink it up next year under their new hard-ass coach.

Adelaide didn't show much loyalty to his best mate last year, so why should Tex show much loyalty to them?

Don't think the Crows will stink it up they are a decent side and lost a fair few close games this season, out of the 4 who were in contention for the final spot in the 8, without seeing the draw for 2015 I would rate them from 1 - 4 with 1 being the best chance

1. Crows - still a decent midfield Tex on his 2nd year back from a knee recon, Talia is a jet (Gysberts FMD), Brad Crouch for mine is going to be an elite midfielder and I rate Walsh very highly as a coach

2. Suns - all depends on the coach because the right coach will do wonders with this list, O'Meara's knees are a concern for 2015 but with a fit Ablett and Dixon and Lynch continuing to improve and Fortress Metricon they will be pushing big time for the 8

3 Meth Coast - will win the 9-10 games as the front runners they are against mediocre opposition but their midfield will continue to get pushed around by the Top 6 sides in the comp, will be there or thereabouts and given a good run with injury could sneak in, Glass and Cox are huge outs

4. Pies - aging stars quality players wanting out Levi Greenwood being talked up as a trading coup my how things have changed another year of the rebuild next year and the blowtorch is going to be well and truly scorching Buckleys ar$e next season

Stop being so logical. I want to pin my hopes on everyone leaving that club in an exodus. :(

Because a lack of information doesn't prohibit people from discussing it. How many threads do you see around here that are actually locked?

Their new coach reminds me of Neeld.

Good luck with that AFC.

Hawthorn won a premiership in 2013 despite the speculation about Buddy's future in his free agent season but Walsh will really be up against it next year if all three of Adelaide's FA's stay at the club and delay their final decisions untiI the end of the season.

With the notable exception above, these sagas tend to be destabilising because they are continually brought up when the team and players aren't doing well so if he has three players under the spotlight, it will really test a novice coach.

Although I remain highly sceptical about our ability to prise Dangerfield away from the Crows, I think this is something they will have to think long and hard about in the unlikely event that Danger indicates he wants to leave. That, together with the fact they will not get better compensated if he goes next year.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
