Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

GAMEDAY - Round 23

North Melbourne has indicated its contempt for our team by resting five players for the finals. This is the first time in many years that I won't be going to a final round game in my home state. Won't even be watching it on television.

I have something else on but my message to the AFL is that if you don't treat equalisation more seriously and do nothing other than support the stronger clubs then you will end up with fixtures that attract neither crowds nor viewers.

I don't see our challenge to win today as being much different to Richmond's against the Swans.

The opposition really have nothing to play for. The result won't change where they finish on the ladder. There will be an element of self- preservation involved among some of the players who won't want to get injured and miss finals games .

The answer is to hit them hard, tackle them, pressure them and let them know that they're in for a tight physical contest.

This might be a departure from the way they've been playing lately but it's the last game of the season and they need to make a statement for their fans and for themselves.

i'm genuinely excited about tonite's game, Jamar should have a party in his 150th with no Goldstien, Someone could snag 4 sausages with no Furrito maybe even Watts,North forward line doesn't seem to have enough goals in it to bury us. Warming up the vocals for a little singsong tonite.

Not to be too negative about our chances but let's look at our last 4 games before we start declaring this as a cert.
We have received three genuine thrashings (Hawthorn, Eagles and GW BLOODY S!) and would have been thrashed by the Lions had their skills not been as woeful as ours for 3 and a half quarters.

We are deluding ourselves if we don't think that North aren't in a position to do that again. Our expectations as supporters are that the best we can expect is the team to give a yelp at least. The group should always be aiming to win but some expectations of the support group, as witnessed here, are way off the mark.
I still have a sly chuckle to myself when I read all those posts proclaiming that we should get excited if we knock off North or Hawthorn but beating GWS or Brissy was no big deal. It would appear we are still a way of beating those two teams as it is!

I bet you thought the same thing when we played the GWS reserve team a couple of weeks ago.

I hope you're right but we are just that bad.

where are Norths goals going to come from? Drew Petrie? He's not really Mr reliable. Look, we probably won't win...but at the moment I can't see us getting thrashed by 60+ points with the outs that they have. Hence why I was shocked when i saw most of the tips here: http://resources.news.com.au/files/521/227/cb43e256-2f07-11e4-aafa-2c4cfd90ea1d..pdf

Look at Norths forward line coming into this game. Probably worse than ours...

then it ought to provide an abject lesson in how you conjure something out of nothing...something our lot is too timid to

I am with you. No Harvey is a bonus. I reckon Michie will kick 4.

Just get it over. 2014 in some ways has been far worse than the 2 previous years.

The excuses we heard before were just that.

The "problems" were addressed. & still the players have shown little respect for the jumper and members.

Since Round 13 it has been diabolical. Kicking 3-4 goals in a full game on a dry ground.

Fcuk That.

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt
