Just thinking about how long we have been calling out for a true A-Grade Player at the top of his game and really believe we have one right now in Nathan Jones.

The bloke is as tough as they come, an uncompromising gut-runner and leads from the front.

His stats go alright too:

3rd in the league for total disposals

1st in the league for effective disposals

4th in the league for total clearance

Also, top 20 in the league for: Kicks, Handballs, Tackles, Contested Possessions and Uncontested Possessions

I only wish he would start to get the media attention he deserves. I know on other footy forums he is always ranked #1 by opposition supports as the most under-rated player in the league.

Make sure you lap this bloke up fellow demons supports, he's an absolute champion and future legend

With those stats just quoted what else does he need to do to reach A Grade classification? You mark hard mate.

He does go missing in action too much....and i think he tries to do too much

Yes i mark hard....i wish more people around here would too...

Jonesy is High Grade Blue Collar, but he sits under A Grade.

He needs to hit the scoreboard more often to really hurt opposition teams to be A grade I think, but the game plan makes this very difficult.

what does it matter? free agency is going to take him off us anyways, so that only the 'good' teams succeed.

If he does leave you could not begrudge him. He is hoping we improve drastically and we can get him close to finals to keep him longer.

There's been plenty of support for Jones around here, though he definitely deserves more accolade from the media.... Considering the team that he has developed in and the coaching/administration changes this club has put him through, it's really amazing how far his game has come on... Jones is a rear breed and is probably the best player we've drafted in the past ten to fifteen years... Who knows how he'd be rated if he didn't play for us? Probably somewhere around the Sam Mitchell/Jimmy Bartel make?

Depends on how you grade them.

In my mind he sits alongside players like Mundy, Marc Murphy, Priddis, A Swallow. All quality players but just below A grade.

A grades are Dangerfield, Watson, Fyfe, JPK, Selwood. All better players then Jones.

Pendles and Ablett are in a different cat altogether.

Jones won't be going anywhere. This club will do whjatever is required to retain him... but having said that, he strikes me as possibly the only player at the MFC who is totally dedicated to the cause of raising this club out of the mire.

Only one thing to say about your comment... MFCSS (I thought it was all but gone, but it must be building resistance to the Roosisinthehouse vaccine).

Mundy not an A grader? What else does he have to do?

This is a good chance of being worst post of the year right here. Congratulations.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
