Imagine if ours and Collingwood's positions were reversed here. Eddie would be threatening to get all of our sponsors to pull out and take away the QB match etc etc.

We brought or is that bought Mitch clark in a couple of years ago as a key piece of our club moving forward, we were so impressed with him that we gave him number 11. that is no ordinary number and a lot was expected of him following after Jim. I think its safe to say that he has failed to show the leadership and devotion to the club that we were hoping for, as such his talking to others before really talking with the MFC feels like betrayal of both the club and supporters. I have my doubts about Collingwood taking him, only from the fact that Collingwood has made quite a few poor decisions on big men and forwards in recent years a couple more and Bucks and co may find themselves being turfed out of the club. Collingwood fans are far from forgiving, something Mitch needs to consider as their expectations will be far greater than lowly melbourne supporters who would probably be happy with a forward who can contribute 40-50 20 goals per year.

Edited for accuracy.

Clark for Lumumba is the perfect trade for us.

Both about the same age, both with off-field issues and both potentially great acquisitions for their new clubs, but at the same time, very high chance that it will go pear-shaped.

Clark could solve the Pies lack of a back-up forward/ruck for Cloke problems.

Lumumba could solve the lack of dash and taking the game-on problems that we have.

He also now prefers to play on the wing, which means we can offload the tall under-performing wingman that we have - Watts his name?

So it's a WIN-WIN-Win situation.

Damn you C&B now that you have changed your avatar I find myself staring at it and not reading anything else. It seems anything you say sounds plausible and of such high intellect.

You are hearing my posts in her voice aren't you, that was the idea lol

I agree, I don't see how it is possible that any 'health professional' could recommend that course of action to a client, seems to be horrible advice. I smell BS.

I smelled BS at the time of the announcment C&B

I would take Lamumba doing the Lambada over Grimes doing Gangman Style coming out of half back every day.

Pure Gold hahahhahaahahahahaa

I can't believe people think a trade of Clark for HL is a good deal... All I see is one player kicking goals and dominating games, the other kicking it high in the air to any one and FFS we have enough of those kicks in our side.

I'd rather keep MC and him never play again than take a chance he plays for some one else and regains form which I believe he would.

If, and I know it's a big if, Clark returns to his pre-injury form, he is worth a top 10 pick.

I would prefer to let him walk and get a comp pick instead. We can then use another pick for Lamumba.

Just FYI he finished 5th in their BnF last year and his supercoach score is their 4th best this year

Too many facts.

Absolutely no reason Clark won't return to form.

Agree...Labamba( The attention seeker) isn't required. We need two star mids with Chunk & Dom and a two guns alongside Hogan and away we go to win land...

Not good average footballers like Labamba...who really are overrated anyhow.

Mitch C...you need to hit this on the head fast as to what you intend on doing with your career...your credibility is taking massive hits...but in fairness its the media making most of the statements to date..

Come back to Demonland and live up to the hype or stay retired...entertain going to the Pies or another and you will feel the wrath of the Demon army next year..especially me.

Absolutely no reason Clark won't return to form.

Except for those two minor career changing moments.

Suffering one of the more complicated and severe injuries in football which led to multiple soft tissue injuries whilst trying to work his way back last year as well as suffering from depression which resulted in him retiring from the game altogether.

But yeh.. No reason he won't return to form..

Hands up whose university studies/work habits/other daily tasks have gone down the toilet the last two days...

I spent a two hour lunch today with an old friend discussing the MC situation instead of talking about the usual stuff. Lots of hand wringing and "why us".

We go back a long way and both agreed ( over a glass of wine) we feel like the jilted girlfriend who has been dumped for the perky blonde cheerleader type. Life's not fair.

It was a deep and meaningful conversation. When I started to try reading my tea leaves re MC, I thought it was time to stop drinking.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
