I mean don't forget guys...his mind is probably still unstable. I doubt you can just recover from chronic depression fully in the space of 5 months. I only understand his circumstances because a close friend of mine also suffered severe depression.

So why is he coming back to football?

I think sometimes we think we're okay..but deep down we still have a feeling of unworthiness...on a subconscious level. I think this is effecting him now

do you actually have a point...its nondescript

FCS, sorry... but anyone saying we should give him the benefit of the doubt and wait for a statement needs to accept some facts.

I'm not giving him the benefit of the doubt but I am waiting for something a little more concrete. It's not looking good but I can just as easily get angry in two weeks time as now. I'll happily go into meltdown mode when there is something more definite to go into meltdown over.

I kind of have mixed feelings on this. I think anyone who has experienced any form of depression would do the same thing...and completely detach themselves from the past.

Which would be give away football you'd think.

I was under the impression he had depression cause he was on a big contract, was injured and couldn't hold up his end of the deal.

The whole homesick thing was a farce when he decided to come to the MFC for cash rather then actually going home.

This could look very bad...

Are you seriously insinuating that Clark has faked depression?

You could look very bad...

People were perfectly happy when he came to Melbourne after originally wanting out of Brisbane to head to Perth because of his sick grandmother..

Yeah. And we were happy to hand over pick 12 in exchange.

Most people here are worried that we are about to get screwed.

Personally, I just want him back playing for us.

So idk...I'm not soo angry anymore once I have actually thought about it.

So has he gone & got a new mrs, family & bunch of mates too?? What BS, the past is always there in the memory banks somewhere, detach away or not.

It does all stink. There is something funny going on, and maybe things rant as they once seemed.

Ive read and heard all sorts if things from very unreliable sources.

But i can't make a decision or criticise him until we find out whats really going on.
No one has said anything really, and i prefer to get the full scope.

I think you are missing the point, I am not sure he actually had depression.

I think you are ill informed and annoyed because you were blocked on social media. You sir are a weenie

It's nice to have a clinical perspective from one of Mitch's doctors. Thanks.

I mean anything associated with the past...which is why I would of thought it would be better to not come back to footy at all

If this all turns out to be true then this guy is worse than $cully.

I wish he had an e at the end of his name and we used Euros as our currency so I could say &@#% you Clark€.

Providing this is true of course. Innocent til proven guilty and all that.

Could not give a stuff pal, hardly annoyed. I am just pointing out the elephant in the room

There has been no quotes from his manager or himself saying that he does not want to play with Melbourne, something a lot of people are ignoring.

Welcome to Demonland

Then you don't really understand at all. Sorry but you can only understand if you've been through it.

From my perspective if Mitch is still struggling with it then he needs to inform his manager to shut the ... up, this can't be doing him any good at all.

...and along with the same point, if he wanted to get away from football, the limelight etc and recover he would have been best, again only my point of view to get away from all forms of social media.

FCS, sorry... but anyone saying we should give him the benefit of the doubt and wait for a statement needs to accept some facts. The official AFL website says he has contacted the AFL directly enquiring about his options for returning to the league. That's right, he skipped going to his current (technically) employer, a football club, and went straight over their heads to the league itself. That alone speaks volumes about his intentions.

If you retired from your job and decided you'd had a change of heart, do you talk to your former manager or the company's CEO?

It's over. Time to accept it and watch the [censored] unfold. Thankfully we don't have morons running the club anymore; Roos and PJ will not be taken for fools on this, which it sadly appears MC is treating them as.

If I was contemplating a return to the AFL, I'd do the same. If I hadn't made up my mind, I wouldn't bring the MFC into it just yet, just check out my options. It's not that sinister.....just yet.

Like most of us, I'll wait for something a bit more official before I am officially shattered.

I suppose his photography is highly advertised on social media so he couldn't cut it away completely .

100% agree re: his manager.

Anyone know who else his manager represents?

Posted

I didn't have a go at him, it was a mere statement, I didn't call him names or make accusations. I didn't demand answers. I said it would be nice for him to make comment. Yes, some [censored] called me a 'weenie'

You did it on a post that was to do with one of his photographs... you railroaded the thread and as a result numerous others joined in. You did the wrong thing, end of story!

Bit of a catch 22 but he did seem to want to trade off the footy. He used his footy fame to push his photography and there is part of the problem.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
