Bail, Terlich & Riley Re-Sign

Look it's been a long year....suggest you find a darkened room....have a good lie down.......one more game to go....I am going to Etihad in the hope they give a yelp....let Roos work his magic in the pre season

And none of that actually acknowledges that we are SHlT now does it Saty ?? hmm

They've absolutely smashed teams that in turn smashed Casey even with a decent gaggle of Demons present.

My point was...we may/could /should win..But it wouldn't be a forgone conclusion. ( especially if its at their place )

And here i was thinking that we might go about things differently come years end, given the crap that has happened this year. But we refuse to learn from our mistakes.

Riley i can understand why we re-signed him, Bail is very lucky as he has had 6 years to show something and it hasn't been much. As for Terlich, Roos comes out lambasting our skills and we proceed to re-sign Terlich????

I just don't get it. Will we ever learn?

I guess you can only judge list management as a whole process after all the drafts. Which is the other strange thing about these signings in that they've happened so early in the process.

Agreed. While I thought it is unusually early in the process I don't really know if it is; maybe someone can enlighten us? Unusual?

But assuming it is early, I thought that indicated it must be part of Roos' overall plan about the whole process - he certainly knows more than any of us, thankfully.

Who is not might be easier to answer olisk

I think that people believe there is perception that we go in with tradeables and not tradeables

I am sure there is two lists - one being a list of names we will throw out there to see if there are any bites. Tapscott and steak knives.

Then other clubs comes to us and say how about such and such....that's the "I'm listening - what are you offering in exchange" list - and I reckon basically everyone is on that list.

Has it occurred to those who are bagging the resigning of these 3 players, that the current coaching staff might just know a bit more of how to build a list than they would. For those idiots suggesting that port Melbourne would defeat the demons you have got sh*t for brains.

Im a little bit bias with Terls because I played TAC Cup footy with him but he has frustrated me with his skill level. Its does show that the step up from Jnrs to AFL is a totally different set up because he definitely was one of our top 5 best kicks at the time back in the day. He has also shown he has improved and how much he has had to work hard for.

Lets remember he has only played 35 games so still a little bit inexperience. Wait till he hits the 80 game mark and starts to gain confidence and mature a bit more.

Terlich if he can sort out his disposal on an afl level base will be a fine player.

If Terlich gets to 80 games before he improves that means we'll be rubbish for the next 3 years at least!

Personally I reckon his kicking is fine when given a bit of confidence as at the start of last year it was fine but as the season went on and he lost confidence it was worse. This year it was more his decision making, trying to play the safe style of Roos footy didn't suit him. Switch him to Port Adelaide and yeah he'd make a few errors every now and then but he'd also run and attack the game. Can't help but think he's a better player than Jasper Pittard.

Maybe another preseason will be 1 step back and then 2 steps forward. He's courageous, a good tackler and has a crack. I'm much more worried about his defensive ability than his kicking. If he could shut opponents down I could live with the odd turnover.

Can someone please just ban this fool? All he ever posts is "you all have sh*t for brains".

He's not even a poor man's Saty. That's an insult to Saty.

Not surprised at all.

Terlich is a bigger body and now has some afl experience. His signing tells me that Clisby will be delisted.

Bail - yes his kicking has been terrible at times and you could argue not getting the ball at all like Tappie or others might do less damage than turnovers that result in goals but he runs all day, is as fit as they cone, spreads, keeps to his opponent but above all else he PLAYS HIS ROLE.

Riley had no preseason and still looks alright. Give him a chance.

As to the comments 'you cant turn over more than seven players' the answer is my word you can when you are as bad as we are.

neeld marched 12 in his first season - you can take on free agents you can trade for low draft picks, etc.

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

It’s game day and the Demons return to Melbourne to play the Eagles at the MCG for the first time in over a decade. A win keeps the Dees finals hopes alive whereas a loss will almost certainly slam the finals window shut.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
