The split round is already proving to upset more than just your weekend.

With Carlton beating North last night, and prematurely locking in St Kilda over Freo, there is a genuine possibility we could finish on the bottom of the ladder.

Will be an interesting an interesting to see how Brisbane fare against against Gold Coast.

One thing is for certain; St Kilda's case for a PP just got harder!

I still think we have enough about us to roll both the Lions and GWS, but you're right in saying that with games like these finishing on the bottom is not out of the question.

We might upset a tired Port?

The optimist in me says we can.

The eternal Melbourne supporter in me is getting angry because GWS will probably pull something out of the bag against the Cats... and then we are the only team not to pull off an upset and get done by 10 goals, thus ruining my weekend and not joining in the 'upsets'.

Would be fantastic if this became "that" round of the year where all the lowly clubs find a way to win against all odds. It does happen.

Makes you wonder why the saints haven't at any point shown form anything close to this, if they played like this all year they would have a lot more wins

The pessimist in me says that just as the Saints were playing for Lenny today, Port will be playing for Cassisi tomorrow.

Fairly disrespectful from Port as well. Not prepared to play him unless they're expecting an easy kill.

I can understand it though - they are playing for a Top 4 spot, playing him against us should be ok as it won't hurt them too much. Playing him against a Hawthorn for example would hurt them, theoretically.

Sylvia 7 possessions and 24 dream team points!

His influence is starting to have an effect at Fremantle.

Poor Sylv......what a lost soul.

His influence is starting to have an effect at Fremantle.

Has he played his last AFL game? I would think at least for this year he has...

7 very uninspiring Col possessions. "X" Factor written all over them...

Wouldn't it be seriously ironic if Roos guided us into last place despite the tangible improvement between rounds 4-15 and the major praise heaped on the man.

A win against either Brisbane or GWS OR if Saints fail to win another game should see us avoid the spoon.

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
