Something's gotta be done about this Casey alignment. Better the seconds than the firsts, but losing like this does no good for anyone's head.

What do you suggest? It's easy for people to say quit it but does that really answer the problem and are we in a position to do it? Do we take over or do we try and work a solution including investing in some good VFL players to bring the squad up to scratch?

JKH and Blease both been doing well for mine. Fitzy was good in 1st half. Tappy getting a few.

Not surprised we are copping a hiding, Kennedy-Harris is the only bloke on that list up to AFL standard.

Hopefully Casey doesn't ruin him.

Regardless of his and the seniors form, he needs to be at least the MFC sub next week to save him from this merde.

I am serious - he wasn't dropped into this cesspit through poor form, it was player management. It could seriously scar him mentally.

From BF:

"Interesting stat.

There are 10 Casey blokes playing (not including Troy Davis, cos he was ours), to half time only one of them has more than 6 disposals."

Seems pretty clear to me that the Casey listed players are so far from VFL standard, it's bringing down the standard of the MFC players. Nathan Jones could only achieve so much in a team full of duds over the years. Likewise, if any MFC players have unrealised potential in the 2nds, it's wasted when you're getting shanked kicks all day long.

And people talk about how it is poor from the 12 Melbourne players. From the stat sheet all looked to be doing there bit, but like last week the other blokes on the ground are a flat out liability

Hopefully this inspires those fringe players currently in the seniors. Perform or go back and play with this mess.

Sack the coach.

I honestly don't know why we don't have an MFC development coach taking charge of Casey. As part of the alignment we give them financial help. But more importantly, now that we have a quality AFL coaching set-up, having them in charge of Casey would benefit a VFL side greatly, but also align with what Roosy is trying to accomplish. It would also help speed up the development of our players and be consistent with training during the week.

Am I allowed to say "You're an [censored]"?

If not, my apologies, Mods please delete. Otherwise ...

Mate get it through your head. Toumpas needs to stand up, he is way off the mark right now and is barely making the Casey Seniors. For what we took him at the draft is a joke right now, if I didnt know any better I would think BP were behind picking him up.

Thanks for speaking sense after bing181 abused me for no reason

Toumpas has been terrible, no doubt about it

Absolute shocker of a pick 4 especially considering the players taken right after him who are dominating at AFL level already

Maybe it shouldn't be quite this bad, but you blokes shouldn't be surprised

Casey are broke (due to losing their pokie license), plain and simple, they could only attract kids the other vfl clubs didn't want

these kids are now tiring as the season lengthens

don't know how much the coach can be blamed if the cattle are not there. that's for others to judge

one should also remember that the alignment produced better results than the seniors up until this year

something will have to be done to inject some money into this club

Your like my father. Never ever could find something good to say about anything. Always managed to find something condescending to say.

It's monotonous and boring

I wish they would bring back the function that allowed people to block posts of others from view. You add nothing, absolutely nothing and I visit this site far less that I used to because its so hard to read..

Bring back the filter, because this place is becoming unreadable.

I see no problem with Toumpas struggling at AFL level. He's a kid after all, and his hips are a work in progress.

Having said that, he needs to be taking charge of his fortunes at VFL level like he did in the SANFL.

He should be banging the door down.

I do worry that Casey is a toxic environment though, and that players are being sapped of their confidence.

Toumpas is averaging 17 touches at afl level and his tackles are improving alot, he is improving but people compare him to McRae and wines which means anything he does do is unnoticed

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
