And you're a primary administrator?

Honestly, what don't you get? I'd be interested to know? It's a fact. Also, I did not say you were stupid nor did I say the first goal doesn't count...

"Jones kicked our first 23 secs in, so we technically went the whole match with only 2 goals."

You've made it out that the first 23 seconds don't count by incorrectly using technically and whole.

If you said; "Jones kicked our first 23 secs in, so for the rest of the match we only kicked 2 goals", that would be correct and interesting...

Too stagnant and then when we moved it forward quickly we butchered it. Tyson and Dawes had absolute stinkers and the young crew struggled.

As much as we all wanted a win, the result is probably a fair reflection of where we are.

Our game style seems to shock teams in the first half. We need to capitalize on this when we can. Once the filth adjusted they had the ball all to their own.

Gawn is a good ruck men but is no good as a forward. He looks for body contact in a marking contest as if it's a ball up. He needs to get those long arms in the air.

Pedo and Dunn worked hard all day. In fact the entire back 6 should take credit for keeping the score against low.

Dawes and frawley had to work up too far to get their marks and it left us empty down forward.

Well beaten today in a truly ugly game. Our slow ball movement and almost complete lack of forward pressure was bad. 3 goals in a full game in perfect conditions is unacceptable. Colingwood learned from other clubs mistakes and did not blaze away at goal against us. Far too many times they went back upfield to find a free player in range. Missed critical opportunities and some dodgy umpiring set us back from making any meaningful challenge in the second half. Our worst game since WC.

Thoroughly enjoyed melbournes play, I like that we hold the football. Skill execution by players stopped it from being a much closer game, that said it shows melbournes improvement again.

The forwards needed to not slow down when running at the football, this allowed a few spoils.

Salem probably needs a rest.

I'd rather watch paint dry.

Up forward, Gawn is all or nothing. Either takes a grab or the opposition just stroll out of defence. We lacked a crumber (among other things). Edited by Forest Demon

I like seeing Melbourne control the football well. If we scored more goals but allowed them to dominate us on the turn over would that be better?

This style of football will translate into winning games eventually and is leading us to be significantly more competitive

Agree completely, was a disgraceful game. Absolutely no presence up forward and all players were afraid to have a shot so ended up chipping it around until it was turned over. Very disappointed.

I assume you don't know what 'technically' means. 'Technically' was about the only word you couldn't have used in the context you used it.

Nasher is correct in pointing out that your sentence was 'technically' incorrect. Although you are now pointing out that you have 'practically' no understanding of the english language.

Read between the lines, it is what it is.. In 103 mins of play we only kicked two goals.

Interesting stat : we were the equal second lowest free kick recipients in AFL history today. Seem right?

Our defensive game was strong again but unlike recent weeks we lacked skill, composure and confidence going forward of centre. We need two players off half back who have speed and skill. Those who suggest our performance was atrocious have forgotten how far we have come in 12 months. If you want open football without defensive intent I suggest watch Richmond.

It was a long day. Things didn't go our way today. The umpiring was woeful and we were beaten by a better team. It sucks.

Hope your hubby isn't too hard on u.

If he is just go on strike and I mean on strike for everything!

We obviously do not have a forward line but when players like Clark(retired) and Hogan (injured) were part of our pre season plan it is difficult to cover those losses. Lynden Dunn by far our best player today and our most improved, but unfortunately despite the fact we kept a top four side to 8 goals Bloody McDonald (Far too slow and no football brain) and Garland (best years behind him) did not perform, we did a good job.. We now need to get the forward line right... Frawley has to go back (and I would never pay more than $400,000 for him) We are definitely on the right track and Roosey is the man to take us there.. We are on the improve. OK Viney, Tyson and even Jonesy were down but we are heading in the right direction.. I have no doubt we will be further up the ladder next season and possibly will climb a couple of rungs this year and let's not get too disappointed about today... Howe back to the forward line may help..We were playing a top 4 side and kept them to their second lowest score in 20 plus years..

cant agree with all but you have valid input...keep going :)

Oh well, so be it, move on. There's more important issues in the world than Grammar etc. I'm pretty happy with where my life's at actually. But back to the point, we kicked two goals in that 103 mins of play.

Moving forward, in hindsight, it would be interesting to see what the results would be with Hogan & Clark up there. I still think we need another big marking forward playing deep, it would obviously give the mids a bit more of a lift.

What you should be saying now is "Whoops! Ha ha, yeah but you know what I meant."

What you're actually doing is getting angry with other people because you are embarrassed that you made an error. We all know it and your anger is just causing mare embarrassment. Just accept the error (which I found funny in a 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' kind of way), laugh and get on with life.

Our execution skills is some parts of the game were deplorable.

Dawes was very ineffective and will hopefully have a much better game next wk.

Dunn did really well was very impressed with his game.

Jetta - best game yet and was one of the only players to shepherd

Stringing up some excellent games.

Started with purely shut down jobs but has has been looking to attack and provide options now.

He is excellent defensively, makes good decisions with ball and provides blocks before or after the play for team mates.

I think we all know what TVT was trying to say.

We don't always need an english lesson we ain't at school.

Just let the poor bugger be.

For as long as the hard-core defense and retaining possession approach was working and keeping us within striking distance, there was a tense satisfaction that we were in it and not being blown away.

But the tragic reality is, if you don't have the kind of 'weapons' that can cut through the messy masses that form in front of your 'control' zone, you just can't get any scoring done of your own.

We could use someone like Goodes. Or some decisive sweeping counter-attackers like Kennealy or McVeigh. Or a Hall/O'Loughlin double act up forward.

Evidently.

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had
