He is going to get at least 500k a year, I can't see us getting less than band 1

Chip would be aware the longer he drags it ut the more he'l damage the MFC brand with articles like this where opposition clubs and players talk about them deciding on poaching Frawley like the MFC don't matter and that taking our players is like taking candy from a baby. That Frawley is allowing this is lowering him in my eyes. He may be a country boy but he'd well understand that him leaving will humiliate the MFC and us fans.

I was optimistic, then sitting on the fence, now I figure he's gone...

Hope he stays but if he does leave i hope it's for Geelong, because he definitely won't be getting a flag in his AFL career then.

I actually would like Chip to stay - i think that would send a good message for the club

But we know what we're going to get from Chip - Solid 1v1 player but sub standard skills and decision

I have no doubt he'll be a soild contributor - but if we can get a high first round pick and snag another quality mid I wouldn't be super upset in losing him......

PS i readily admit he'll be a good player in a good team - problem is we're not a good team yet...

What the hell has happened to our defense in the last month? We were keeping teams to low scores not long ago, now they're just giving away goals like a sieve.

Posted

i'd say they're focusing a bit more on ball movement forward which sacrifices defence

ITs all a work in progress atm

He has only given us bare minimum this season and while I would like him to stay, he could walk at the moment and we would be no worse off.

He makes poor decisions and is playing with no urgency.

Yes, the question now is not if he will stay but if we want him to.

He had a shocker and to rub salt into the wound his 19 year old, first year player kicks the winning goal on him

Bloke has to be one of the dumbest footballers running around on an AFL list.

If he goes...then bring on a first round pick. If he wants to stay offer no more than 400k a year for his services and pray he gains some football smarts over summer.

Please leave Frawley and take your half arsed efforts with you.

Glad people are starting to realise that his 'effort' or lack thereof is absolutely pathetic for a guy who is apart of our leadership group.

LEADERSHIP GROUP. Players who are meant to be leading our club towards a positive and successful place.

That effort with the ball against the first year player in Bontempelli who I'm sure weighs at least 10-15kg less but still manages to win the ball, beat a couple of defenders and kick an amazing goal is astonishing.

How anyone still continues to believe that Frawley is worthwhile keeping when we have the opportunity to grab another first rounder or potential trade bait for another player who wants to fight for our club is out of their minds.

The issue is not about contract talks. The issue is his effort. And it's [censored] pathetic for someone of his age and experience.

Posted

Well who could blame him, they are a class organization with brilliant player development and he will play finals every season for the rest of his career

The players, staff and die hard supporters that actually give a [censored] about the club and the effort of each individual on gameday.

Wake up.

Yep definitely no footy smarts. But it was his first game down back for 10 weeks so there's probably an adjusting period.

His man for the first 3 quarters had 1 handball. That's it. No marks, nothing else.

Unfortunately Frawley did so well on him that he then ended up being subbed off and Frawley then played on a smart kid who took advantage of his smarts.

I'm happy to keep Frawley. I know that bucks the trend. But I've already said my piece on Tom McDonald. And if Frawley is willing to stay for a reasonable price that reflects his quality defending and run but very poor skills and smarts then that will benefit the team.

Pretty much if the price is right we keep a player who hopefully lifts once he's locked in to contract and has to perform for it. If the price isn't right we go forward with Tom McDonald.

I know Frawley stuffed up that piece of play on the goal line and it was hugely important but I can't help but feel sorry for all our defenders when the rubbish umpiring free against Bail probably made them all very nervous near the goal line.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
