Salem - class and coolness under pressure. THe ability to hit up that kick and keep his cool, we have something special here.

Thanks Bruce ;-)

Winged no impact no far. Just the four touches. I knew Jetta was a good defender but jeez louise

We are in this with a real chance... and whatever the final result, it is patently obvious that we are on the way up!

Roos ability to get the best out of players- Pedo, Bail, Jetta. A lot of people including myself didn't hold much hope for those three before Roos took over. Big chance next week.

Jetta doing a really good defensive job on Wingard...

One hundred point margin coming up I fear.

At risk of being cited by the MRP ---- BUMP !!!

Half time.

Salem should replace Grimes off half back forever

He has much more footy smarts,is a lethal pinpoint kick and his run off halfback would be sublime.

Luke Hodge does it off halfback and Salem is bigger and is an equally good kick

He is lacking intensity both at the ball and when he has the ball. A real liability today unless he can switch on.

I think that is the real problem. To me he has jogged to some contests today.

The turnover was poor decision making and poor execution. Unfortunately he does 1-2 of those every game. Something he needs to work on.

What a difference Roos has made to Pedo, Bail, Jetta, Matt Jones - all AFL standard compared to last year.

Unfortunately not able to watch the game...but sounds as if Grimes should be his next project

Fantastic. Needs to do it again for the second half.

I said when we signed Paul Roos that he will love Neville Jetta and turn him into a gun

Everyone else had given up on Jetta well and truly

Except me and Roosy

My God Salem has some class!

I just had to throw that in. That was an absurdly good pass.

I can't believe how well some of our lads are playing today. Jetta is having a day out, Salem has had a few moments of brilliance, Jone, Jones and Tyson are great through the middle, Pedo is continuing to show class that none of us thought he had and Bail is leading the goalkicking. We could easily have had the lead at half time but for a couple of lapses (Grimes take a bow if you please).

Can we keep this up?

Giving players a role, installing confidence, not being reactionary at the selection table. Simple enough but bloody effective.

Grimes is doing some good one on one defensive work, but when he has the ball in his hands often makes the wrong decision kicking it short across goal.

Salem on the other hand is a revelation with his smarts.

Viney needs to get into the game.

Salem will be RS for R10 if he keeps this up. JKH questionable today, why didn't he handball to the running player there at the end of the second quarter? He kicked it backwards and we turned it over, only saved by the siren and probably half a second in it.

He's quickly becoming redundant as other players are overtaking him. Lacks spark and turns it over way too often. Can't captain like that.

Grimes is another one who is better when he doesn't have time to think. His instinctive play is generally very good, but if he gets a bit of space and sums up his options he will often take the wrong one and/or miss his target. If we can get him to just get the ball and move it on instantly without thinking about it then he'll be a better player.

I think the instruction from the bench was "a minute to go, just hold the ball and don't concede" as opposed to "a minute to go, see if you can get a last minute goal and be even at half time."

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
