It's raining and there's nothing much on other than to try to make it a double header - Scorps at Visy followed by Dees (or the Mighty Demons) at the G tonight.

It's a big night for the club - to have truly turned the corner we need to follow up wins with continued good performance. Judging on Sydney from last night, our effort a fortnight ago wasn't all that shabby and we know about last week in Adelaide. Let's see something even better tonight - a game where we dominate for the full four quarters would be nice but perhaps we're not quite ready for that yet.

Agree this is a big night for us. We've been crying out to be respected for years and a win tonight following on from our stance during the week and the win in Adelaide will see the beginnings of respectability coming back our way! Dogs only game at the G all year and I can't remember it being a very happy venue for them away from their pristine conditions at etihad! Weather could suit us I reckon! Can't wait to be there

Same as last week a scrap is playing into our hands for dogs to win they need to make it free flowing

Reduced capacity to the parking at the G for tonight. Gate 3 or 5 are the only ones open, from memory gate 5 is the one off Flinders st near Jolimont station but I'm not certain about that.

Someone explain to me why this isn't a suspension worthy offence?

http://www.snappytv.com/snaps/monfries_j1tcuz

Because he didn't break any rules. Claiming a mark or a kick isn't illegal; though I suppose there's nothing inherently different between pretending you kicked a goal and pretending someone clocked you in the mouth.

Finally, the goal review system isn't a total waste of time, but there should be some form of disincentive for players to lie/mislead umpires.

Telling the umpire you kicked a goal when your foot kicked air is plain embarassing. Hope he gets hit by the karma bus.

It would be nice to extend the staging laws to include claiming goals you clearly didn't kick or claiming points you clearly didn't touch, but neither of those things really bring the game into disrepute the way staging for free kicks does--which is why the AFL would probably never go for it.

Anyone know what time the field of women is tonight?

We should win, however history in these circumstances is not in our favour.

history includes losing interstate and players getting shafted at the MRP!

Would certainly make quite the trifecta after the week we've had.

Parking at the ground is a pain i reckon - takes ages to get out. But if that's not a problem i guess its ok. Coming from the wet i reckon a good option is somewhere on the road that circles around the Myer Music bowl parallel to St Kilda road and then walk from there. Down by the river is tricky at night as you don't get much movement. Up round st kilda road people are coming and going from the arts centre.

Its also free

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
