Lol unless we can set up a attractive personal deal, we can NOT get Mitchel for pick 20 alone. No way. I've asked all my Sydney mates, and they reckon around pick 10.

Well, that's nice. Maybe you should remind your Sydney mates that he isn't getting a game with them. He's not therefore worth a first rounder. Ridiculous.

Mitchell is also being paid over $500,000 per year. The Swans need to pay for Buddy, Tippett and Reid etc etc in the coming years. The Swans will off load him at seasons end.

I don't know about that, but his contract size will certainly work in our favour, not against us. We hold the cards here.

Gold Coast most likely for Malceski ATM guys. 3 years at 500,000. At then its West Cost and Hawthorn. This is all according to Damien Barret

If we can't get Malceski, Shiel (because he apparently resigned), Cameron (unlikely), Mitchell (Sydney or Carlton ATM), ROK (hawthorn likely), or O'Rouke (no indication of us being interested), then I wonder who we're going to end up getting this offseason. It might be a suprise, or we might just be going Into the draft...and if we don't get Petracaa...well that's going to b e even more dissapointment. Oh well, I'm optimistic...clearly...

Roos and co. play their cards pretty close to their chest in regards to trades and who we are interested in. While there was speculation that we were interested in a variety of GWS players last year we didn't know it was Tyson until the moment it happened. Same can be said for Vince as well. I'm confident that the club are interested and pursuing a variety of players who can improve our squad. I can't see them chasing guys for the sake of it - if there isn't anyone worth getting then I believe the club will simply go the draft and look at getting players into the club who can help take us forward.

IMO we are in a good position draft wise - around the 3-4 mark is perfect.

Trade for established or take Petracca/Brayshaw - both ready made players.

I liked the suggestion of trading 4 to GWS for Tomlinson and 20.

So long as we could land Mitchell with 20, that is a super deal.

Personally I'd gladly past with pick 4 alone for Tom Mitchell.

Longmire has said Mitchell will not be traded and is a required player. Also Petracca will be gone by pick 3.

Yep exactly...we only get Petracca if we don't win next week...and GWS will make sure that doesn't happen. So whoever we get during trading period is going to be a complete suprise.

Liam Jurrah just kicked 14.2 in his first game out of prison. Id consider taking a look at how he is doing.

Because we probably havnt kicked 14.2 as a team in any single games yet this year. Thats why

Love your thinking. Comes out of prison and kicks a bag against nothing opposition and he is the answer to our goal kicking woes. The bloke is damaged goods and the last bloke Roos would look at I suspect.

He was a favourite of mine before his exit from the club but I wouldn't go anywhere near him now.

Tom Rockliff...40 disposals...10 marks.. 10 tackles and a goal...

We know, he is just another in a batch of quality mids that we could have taken and actually promised to take. Shuey and Sloane are others.

Err you do realize the standard between the bush footy and AFL right??

Just because he did it up the bush doesn't mean it will translate into AFL!

He is light years away from AFL footy I cannot ever see him gracing the field again.

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
