In my view ANY player regardless of contract status is up for grabs if the coin or incentives are high enough. Whether in contract or not it's about time we poach, and develop some rat cunning, stealth and a bit of flair in targeting whoever can help our cause!.

I reckon there will be quite a few players potentially up for trade this year

we really need another big turnover this year

if collingwood does not make the finals you can bet their will be a bit of a list clear out, though collingwood does tend to want their pound of flesh for taking any of their players, regardless of whether they are wanted or not..

No there won't. They have plenty of young talent and they understand list balance better than we have in recent year.

Disagree totally, they're in a mini rebuild phase, they have shown enough imo to suggest their best is top 4 standard, they just need to get consistency, young blokes like Grundy, Scharenberg, freeman, adams, Langdon and co will come on

After hawks v swans block buster... any players from these lists would be welcome.

Gary Rohan impressed me and if available, would be handy!!!

Agree.

Notwithstanding his comeback from that horrific injury - courage at its best.

This is why I still haven't given up hope on our young Sammy.

I still reckon we should have another look at Jarryd Lyons. Crows fans are gobsmacked in why he isn't getting hardly any game time. When he is in the side he has looked pretty impressive.

A huge accumulator of the ball in the sanlf but is also dangerous when pushing forward and kicking goals.

A goal kicking midfielder is exactly what we need.

Shaw, Wellingham, Dawes and Thomas all gone and all fetched top 25 draft picks.

They will analyse all their guys over 26, but that's:

Almost certainly Staying: Cloke, Macaffer, Toovey, Swan, White

Almost certainly Going: Marty Clarke, Maxwell, ??Ball, Hudson, Lynch

Depending on contrats not sure: Goldsack, Dwyer, Blair, maybe Lumumba (wouldnt go anywhere) or Clinton Young

The Collingwood list clean out has already happened. Swan's going to stick around for a year or so more. Cloke, Macaffer, Toovey will stick out their careers more than likely. But the leadership and experience has already passed to Pendles, Beams, Sidebottom, Reid to make something with all the guys younger than them. They are in the enviable position of rebuilding and bottoming out whilst still being around the 8.

Plus they have A grade mids, rucks, key backs and key forwards mainly set in place except for the need to find an A grade key forward at some stage to take over from Cloke.

might actually be the kind of 'cheap' acquisition the FD might entertain. They dont all need to be stars we just need to lift the ability across the list

He seems a bit rushed with the ball to me. But then again doesn't get much of a run and hasn't played enough games to reach the ceiling of his composure.

He'd be a risk of adding another limited player to the list who plays a few games but never makes it as a regular but we've got the list spots. All about what the crows would want. Hopefully after a year of limited chances Lyons would be keen to come home and therefore Adelaide couldn't ask for much.

Would geary be a good pick up?

His a pretty good small rebounding defender, not sure his kicking skills are elite or not which would be one of the main reasons we'd try and get him. His just turned 26 so has plenty of time. I know the cats are interested aswell and as a free agent coming from a bottom side he might want to join a proven successful club

Hun article states we have joined the race for Malceski and will try take him in pre season draft to not dilute our compo

very underrated player, an absolute key to the swans side and would be a massive get

Underrated ?

You having a laugh?

Clearly underrated, he is only potentially available because the swans are unwilling to offer him a suitable contract

Malceski is 30 and Sydney obviously have a lot of planning and thinking to do with the transformation of their list. That includes moving some older players on as a means to get games into younger players as well as player payments etc.

Was Chapman underrated because he was moved on by Geelong?

Malceski is a far more important player to Sydney than Chapman was to Geelong, Malceski sets up everything off half back, his kicking under pressure makes a huge difference in high pressure games.

Hawthorn tagged him extremely hard on the weekend so they clearly rate him.

If the Swans want to look to the future or get some salary cap relief it's our gain imo

we'd be silly not to pick him up

Which means that he is not underrated. It's pretty clear how good the bloke is and that isn't lost on the Swans, not for a second. But they have big decisions to make after signing Buddy and letting Malceski go might be one of them. Doesn't mean they don't rate him.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
