Jesse Hogan Injury Update?

You provide some value with your training reports, but my god, these comments make me cringe.

Can't see why... taken in the context of a conversation (as opposed to an isolated comment) it would probably just elicit a smile and appreciation for the thought. hardly worth singling out for criticism.

I don't have the stat's but I am guessing that over the journey, a lot more players have stayed at their interstate clubs than have left. Eg two of the biggest names Franklin and J Brown. The Swans & Lions are basically full of players from interstate. There must be a large percentage of interstaters in the interstate teams as well. If you look at the total I'm sure more stay than go. Jesse is apparently loving living in Melbourne. Mitch is from Perth and is staying even though he's not at the club. "At the moment." After that interview last week it wouldn't surprise me to see him rookied and playing next year. What would that do for Jesse. Quite a lot, I would say.

Pavlich is by far the biggest.

Adelaide and Port have tried to woo him for years, but he stayed and stayed and is still staying...

Helps that he part owns half of the bars and cafes in Freo....

Jesse did about 40 minutes running, none flat out, this morning at training, watched closely by 3 members of the fitness/medical staff.

I asked him at the end paraphrasing "it's sweet mate", "no probs, just taking it slowly" "did a bit"

Told him there were 30 pages of nervousness on Demonland "tell them not to worry"

He also was smiling and giving thumbs up to any MFC staff who asked him how he was going.

You've ruined everything with that insensitive, thoughtless comment. And I bet you made it worse by calling out 'Go Dees'. Where the hell do you get off rocking up to training and communicating with the players? You probably asked Lucas Cook about his form too!

i must say I have a (probably unjustified) wariness of comments like that. There was a lot of it going on in the Scully debacle. It's sort of like the guy who tells his girl 'please don't ever leave me I would be nothing without you'.. she ends up leaving him for being pathetic and desperate. Half-joking.

Why, they do know they have supporters, and they do know there are fan forums, and they know I post on here, so they use me to answer questions for the supporters out there, Jesse knows every supporter wants him on the field and he actually appreciates the support

If they know you post here then I doubt players tell you anything useful. The party line from a to z your ears hear.

Fair enough....

Sorry Jumbo didn't mean to come across as a know all but a close friend has a few business interests with Pav and a couple of other former Dockers

My quote never works here, if you have read my previous posts on training, I explained to Jimmy Toumpas why I was asking questions and would post answers on Demonland and he didn't have an issue , and he answered truthfully, I also ask permission every time as well, players don't have an issue, they get enough crap on Twitter, anybody can talk to the players, most like the interaction...told Jesse jokingly and he said he was cool

Just what we need, add more pressure to the kid!

We have already lost one Key Forward this year who stuggled with pressures of expectations and injuries...

It's unbelievable and quite hilarious how concerned some people on here re Saty's joke to Jesse re 30 pages of nervousness on DL I couldn't imagine Jesse and his Manager at the table finalisig a new contract only to say "There is one matter we'd like to clear up. Apparently some deprived supporters on DL are nervous and have a 30 page thread on Jesse's bake injury. We feel that with the added expectations that come with such a thread that Jesse wishes to return home".

FFS relax, we've got this.

I can see where Machsy is coming from.

AFL player are reminded and warned constantly NOT to browse supporter forums because of the rubbish that gets written about players. This is a fact. The AFL are trying to drum this into club and then into the players.

So for Saty to say there are 30 pages of demonland nervousness about Hogan, he would know log on this website and see all the pressure thats written about him. Sure most of it is pretty positive

But for someone like Jimmy Toumpas who knows about Demonland because Saty mentioned it to him. He would log on only to see most of you people bagging and saying what a dud player for pick 4, should have taken Wines, Picket Fence getting stuck into him etc.. He sees half of this and his confidence is already hit and it plays on his mind that supporters think he is soft. It has a psychological effect on him and most time its why most young players struggle of the metality side of the game.

Now Saty might say that the players would not read this but when he mentions Demonland to players they will take notice and have a look. They will even say they dont read but they do. Players do really wanna know what supporters think of them. Its something very hard to resist as a player.

I may be wrong but I thought this thread was about Hogan a current member of the playing roster!

I presume that you mean our playing list - 'playing roster' is another bloody American Imperialist intrusion into our game !

I suspected some irony, or sarcasm perhaps.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.

    REMATCH by Meggs

The Mighty Demons take on the confident Cats this Saturday night at the recently completed $319 million redeveloped GMHBA Stadium, with the bounce of the ball at 7:15pm. Our last game of 2023 was an agonisingly close 5-point semi-final loss to Geelong, and we look forward to Melbourne turning the tables this week. Practice match form was scratchy for both teams with the Demons losing practice matches to Carlton and Port Adelaide, while the Cats beat Collingwood but then lost to Essendo

    WELCOME 2024 by Meggs

It’s been hard to miss the seismic global momentum happening in Women’s sport of late. The Matildas have been playing to record sell-out crowds across Australia and ‘Mary Fowler is God’ is chalked onto footpaths everywhere. WNBA basketball rookie sensation Caitlin Clark has almost single-handedly elevated her Indiana Fever team to unprecedented viewership, attendances and playoffs in the USA.   Our female Aussie Paris 2024 Olympians won 13 out of Australia’s all-time record 18 gol

    EPILOGUE by Whispering Jack

I sit huddled in near darkness, the only light coming through flickering embers in a damp fireplace, the room in total silence after the thunderstorm died. I wonder if they bothered to restart the game.  No point really. It was over before it started. The team’s five star generals in defence and midfield ruled out of the fray, a few others missing in action against superior enemy firepower and too few left to fly the flag for the field marshal defiantly leading his outnumbered army int
