One quote really caught my attention:

"This could be a completely different team, with players in completely different positions when we run out on Sunday"

Make of that what you will

At least Roos aint stubborn like many of our past coaches.

We might learn that Frawley is a better forward where he doesn't have to hesitate and turn it over time and time and time again.

Howe in the backline where he aint under super scrutiny. Where he can freely peel-off and take hangers or spoil a contest.

The message is clear that Roosy is going to change up the side for the game on the weekend. new players in and players playing in new positions.

Who will come in and who will be placed in a different position?

I have no idea what those changes might be but I'll throw up a few ideas for discussion?

Viney in, Blease in

Howe to a wing. Watts to full forward .Dunn having a run on the ball?

To be honest, with our injury list, we are not that flexible at the moment.

How is it, that after a whole off-season, our injury list is larger than the end of last year?

How long do some of these blokes need? And more importantly, when will the heat be turned up on Misson, who seems to be escaping being held accountable for his department and lack of effectiveness?

Now why would he want to go and ruin his coaching career, by coming to us?

I don't think he's rattled, I just think he is truly beginning to realise the work that needs to be done and the myriad of bad habits that these players have. You don't see it so much on the track or even during the pre-season, but under some real pressure he saw us crumble for the first time and it didn't look good.

Happy for him to make some changes and to send a message or two to the players. Guys like Fitzpatrick and Pedersen may get dropped, we go with a small, quick forward line and we swing a few other changes as well. Can't make us any worse.

I'm not sure of the answer re our bad run of injuries. Is it the "Norm Smith" curse? Are we drafting players with a history of injuries? Do the recruiters put more time into studying injury history of recruits.

We have way too many players who are hardly ever on the park of late:

Clark

Dawes

Gawn

Grimes (arguable)

Jamar

Strauss

Tapscott

Viney (arguable)

I think Misson and Roosy are pretty tight so I don't think Misson will be put under the microscope any time soon. Also, I'm not sure that he should.

Watts at full forward please

Dont give me this midfleld [censored]

We need him in the forward line right now

When Hogan and Dawes come back (if they ever do) then Watts can go to the midfied

Go easy, Evans is back this week almost 12 months after hurting his toe. Guys all over it.......

we were..there on our list now

I think weve taken a different tac now. Maybe not the injuries per se but the nature of them and history.

Aberations in players history ought not count horrifically against them. A continued and historic account should be a red flag. it wasnt.

Im hoping weve learnt

Watts forward? He can't even win a one on one contest against a mid at ground level, how the hell will he do it against a bigger defender in the air?

Either he grows some or hes on the block... fit in well with the twins !!

ohhhh, so he's gonna do the old "forwards now become backs, and backs now become forwards" Auskick quarter time team-change.

Interesting...

Playing players in different positions. We ARE tanking then! That explains a lot.

take an 'a' out and insert "hi"

Listening to Roosy he was in no way flustered.

He sounded like a man who knows what has to be done and he is the man to do it.

He always referred to MFC as either "us" or "we". (Nice change from previous one)

He also clarified that when he was talking about the players ie dropped marks, missing target etc that he was directly answering a question and not blaming the players.

Also said that his coaching on the day was "deplorable" cause he was in charge of the players and they throw that performance up. This was in response to a ques from Robbo I think when he ask do u take any responsibility.

If we r to get out of this he is the man to do it.

Love listening to this man talk.

Will love it even more when his talk turns into players actions.

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak
