Irony. Give up, post in your precious other thread and bag out Mitch all you want, but it's not what this thread is for and the more you post here the more you show you incapable of understanding ANYTHING you are.

Just stop.

Fair call. Just frustrated and disappointed. Wanted to do something for my favourite player of the last few years, and seeing it derailed by dh's got me a bit fired up. I'll do my best to not give it anymore air.

As I said late last year I reckon he has played his last game! .A physio mate of mine said then that he would find it extremely difficult to get back given the type of injury and the propensity of other soft tissue injuries impeding his rehab. I really believe has played his last game! .

How come Matthew Richardson was able to play a further 160 games following the exact injury ?

If Mitch comes fit he plays for us. If he doesnt his career is over.

We need to consider what's best for Mitch, that may be being in perth with his family, especially if as being suggested Mental illness is involved, we need to be open to the idea of facilitating a move for the well being of Mitch as a person before we consider an ideal world where Mitch is our all conquering forward

that's my opinion anyway, Mitch needs to be put first, as Roosy says the club exists for it's players.

I don't know what everyone else is think on this site but I'm starting to have a little doubt in my mind that Mitch Clark will retire at end of the season.

Not that I want him to leave, I love Mitch and his carriage attack at the ball but as a Demon support I'm always looking at the worst because that's what I'm use to.

So lets say Mitch does leave, we have $750,000 in the cap.

If we finish 2014 in good form we could actually get a big fish.

Who is free and who do we go for.

I'd wait and see what happens with his leave to get a better sense of where the situation is heading, he may yet come back fit and firing and play in the second half of the year.

No, that is not fair.

We should have to pay Clark out.

For what it's worth I'd want Mitch to stay and It feels wrong to speculate but is Patton out of contract at years end? Or would another mid be available?

There might be an agreed settlement if that's the case but he couldn't expect a full pay out. He would retire a millionaire so we have done a lot for him personally if even just paying him handsomely.

But geez the dees seem to have had every issue imaginable happen to them.

The AFL would not let us take a good player from GWS.

I can't understand the angst against one of our own because of the dollars he is getting paid. If it were our lowest paid player would anyone care that they have taken leave due to events out of their control?

That's how I read it too...

"MITCH Clark has been granted personal leave from the Melbourne Football Club due to health reasons.

The Club will continue to be in regular contact with Mitch throughout this period and is working closely with medical staff regarding his on-going treatment.

Some of the challenges Mitch is facing may require some time to overcome, and as a result he will be away from the Club for an extended period of time.

Football Manager Josh Mahoney said: “The Club’s main priority is to provide Mitch with the help he needs during this time. Clearly football comes last in this situation - Mitch is also overcoming a calf injury, and will continue to rehab and condition his physical injury during this period. Everyone at the Club is behind Mitch and will support him in every way possible.”

All the best Mitch.

I wish I'd started this thread as a social experiment to see if MFC supporters on Demonland were capable of supporting one of our own in a time of need with resorting to petty arguments, rumours, and just plain insensitive dumb comments. Unfortunately it was started to simply support a fellow demon but it's been ruined by those incapable of maturity and lacking understanding.

And we wonder why our culture has been so bad.

Get over yourself stuie. You're sounding like a whining sook. What's next? Hold your breath until your face turns blue?

Of course we all want Mitch to come good and play, but you don't get to control what posters write anymore than the rest of us non-mods. Yours isn't the only point worth discussing and threads change track regularly here. It is simplistic to think the thread would not change course.

It was perhaps a good idea for him to take up photography as a hobby but perhaps he took it too seriously and became obsessed with it? I might be speaking out of line but I did think his regular posting on twitter about his photography was a bit over the top.

Surprising how many posters blame photography. If you are looking beyond injury and its effects on general well-being, family problems seem most likely.

It's a good point you make.

We actually have a pretty shallow injury list. It just happens to contain our 3 valuable tall forwards.

I won't factor Clark any more and look forward to Dawes and Hogan, who along with Howe, JKH, Kent and perhaps Fitzpatrick can still provide a potent forward-line.

Potent? All i'm hoping for is to see those two running around "together" for most games later in the year. If that happens we might at least be competitive with teams from around 9th to 18th at some stage.

Anything more than that would be a bonus. Had we been able to field a fit Clark, Dawes and Hogan from the get go we might have been a potent opponent.

    TRAINING: Monday 11th November 2025

Veteran Demonland Trackwatchers Kev Martin, Slartibartfast & Demon Wheels were on hand at Gosch's Paddock to kick off the official first training session for the 1st to 4th year players with a few elder statesmen in attendance as well. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Beautiful morning. Joy all round, they look like they want to be there.  21 in the squad. Looks like the leadership group is TMac, Viney Chandler and Petty. They look like they have sli

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025. The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence.
