That fellatio king, Mark Robinson should be on his hands and knees to Gerard Whately after each show of 360 showing his gratitude for giving his sorry arse some relevance.

The problems with all these shows is it's just jobs for the boys. If the network actually put some time in to host and commentator selection for once it would do wonders and eliminate most of the ridiculous school boy antics they call content.

NFL playoffs start on Sunday, that will get you through until the practice matches start. If you didn't watch week 17 go back and check out a few of those games, Packers/Bears was great and Dallas/Philly was pretty entertaining too, both games for the Division Titles and playoff berth and loser leaves town.

The only footy shows I like are on the couch, and before the game (Just been axed :( ). I tolerate Footy Classified and watch the Footy Show for an occasional laugh. The rest are abysmal.

I have said it before on this site, the standard of AFL journalism (misnomer) is at an all time low. (Sorry Emma you are excluded) The entertainment (or lack of it) is sustained by the publics insatiable appetite (includng mine) for anything footy that any old rubbish dished up will get ratings.

I would rather file my teeth down wnth an angle grinder the watch after the bounce and AFL360 makes me want to punch the tele.

The reality is that the AFL controls a very tight ship, media wise.

Australian journalism across most industries is obsessed with the politics of everything. If you watch the NBA, NFL broadcasts, there is a genuine, interesting and insightful covering of the actual game. We get that to some degree but the most amplified AFL coverage always has to do with a player getting in trouble, or drug scandals, or something like that. The likes of Seven, the radio stations, they get decent access, but they really have to grovel to get information and access to players and clubs.

I agree that the standard of journalism is very low but the AFL doesn't make it easy for private, third-party publications and outlets to cover the game.

Not to stand up for how bad it can get sometimes but the AFL is also partly to blame for the deterioration of media coverage.

I have just adjusted my Foxtel package to not include football or any other sports channels until the season starts again. Cheaper and no stress of watching any of the OP horror shows

Thanks for the heads up Clintosaurus. I've set Foxtel to tape Bulldogs v Adelaide (Round 21) at 5pm so I'll catch both players (assuming they were selected for that game).

It was a good game for both WJ.

Daniel Cross finished with 25 disposals and 1 goal for the Doggies while Bernie Vince had 27 for 1 goal.

So can you switch the sports package to movies etc for a given period?

Yep that's what I did - swapped to Movies and will swap back when the season starts again.

You couldn't pay me to watch After the Game

After reading this thread, you'd think fox footy were showing re-runs of the 1973 ballet world championships or the 1967 tiddlywinks open rather than footy.

It's not that bad guys. They're showing footy 24/7 and that's good enough for me.

The amazing thing about Foxtel or any other form of television is if you don't like it you can switch channels, with the amount of moaning going on you would think everyones TV has been welded onto Fox Footy and can't be changed. Lighten up a little, every show doesn't have to be a clinical dissection of team A's defeat of team B or replays of when our team was not crap, another by product of improving this season will be not having to see how terrible we were during the following off season.

If they both can replicate those stats in round 1 we should be looking at a first up win.

The consensus was that there would be more value by airing great games from various seasons and other footy related programs apart from the shite they put up now with the muppets available.

Thanks for the heads-up about changing channels etc. Revolutionary.

See I was correct.

I thought it might have been a little higher.

Great post. I have always loved my footy but by the end of last year it was beginning to bore the living fack out of me. The competition is increasingly uneven, I don't give a shite if Buddy is having a drink on a boat and there are way too many latte obsessed wankers who think that by simply playing dream team they are no longer smug metrosexual try hards

I don't know why people bother subscribing to Foxtel? If the Dees are playing in Melbourne at the G, I never miss a game, If we are playing interstate (or Etihad) I head off to the local pub and watch it on their Foxtel with my mates over a counter and few bottles of red. I figure that way what I save on a Foxtel subscription pays for my F&B at the pub, plus I can enjoy the company of my mates! It is a no-brainer.

The Bentleigh club is also great for watching interstate foxtel games. You hear the same familiar groans you do at the G but on a much smaller and personal scale. Makes a bad loss more bearable having a bit of a laugh with other supporters

This might come as a shock to you, but not all MFC supporters live in, or close to Melbourne.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
