I get the concept, but I have to dispute the premise. Hugely presumptuous to think there won't be another top 10 pick. There almost certainly will. Plus the list is still being built, with the midfield being added to again next year. This is not "the list". Not yet,

The optimism around here is a good thing, a great thing, but there seems to be an EXPECTATION of a miracle turnaround seeping in. Roos needs time to fix this mess.

There is no doubt about your premise, but the point is, draft picks, as they were in the past, cannot be seen as a panacea. We are where we are now, because of that blinkered belief. The main point is, there are a number of pieces to the puzzle before we climb up the ladder. Draft picks may be part of the solution in the long run, but certainly in no way, are they the panacea once hoped for. No-one here realistically expects "miracles" from Roos, but our hope is that we begin to see something in 2014 that resembles team, unity and belief. If I see that, I will be happy. Anything else that may come our way will be a bonus as far as I'm concerned.

Agreed.

We'll have a top 10 pick next year, because, quite simply, we won't be good enough to get out of the bottom 10.

The list is also not complete. A list with Dunn, Strauss, Blease, Jetta, Nicholson, Pedersen, Byrnes and Tapscott on it is not complete.

It is what it is.

With our help, I'm hopeful we can make Territory the best poster he can possibly be.

Oh, and this is definitely NOT the list... at the end of 2014 it is not unreasonable to think that another 5 or 6 could be gone and there is certainly no guarantee that we won't be getting a top 10 pick again next year (in fact, it's probably odds on that we will).

Wait is this a thread for like a motto for our players or who we will have in 2014?

If its the 2014 thread wait till the next offseason to discuss it.

No, it appears to be more a thread dedicated to misconstruing its intent and missing the point.

Sorry to drop this nugget and run. Thanks for taking the reins Beelzebub and Iva ws and yes that's what I meant.

Not literally the will be not further changes but rather the ideology that they should not rely on further injection but grow together, trust each other and expect to get results from the work they put in as a team.

Having said that can we turn Nicholson over now?

So...."This is the list guys! This is all we will have. Except you Dan; you're cut.

This is all we have! Neville? You're cut.

Those standing here are all we will have!!

I can't wait to cut you next year, Lynden..."

I don't really agree with the sentiment, Territory.

We are getting a top 10 pick next year, and maybe a good player in FA/trade. We don't have a good list. There is more pain and change to come.

Nah, I like Nev's attitude towards the pill, he can stay.

Sorry to upset so many but I think this list, (with a few MINOR tweaks i.e. no more quarter list dumps) can go places.

Go Dees and show em the path Paul!

Very profound Lord. I shall assume an appropriate Zen position and reflect on your wisdom.

That was a Neeld quote....btw whilst looking back on Neeld's tenure I found a post from Ron Burgundy Ï absolutely love Mark Neeld back in March 2013, that should be a lesson to us all, Lord Hear Our Prayer.

So what you're saying is that this is the list? Wow.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
