  1. Greetings erstwhile bs wordsmiths. It’s been wayyy too long since I dipped my big toe into the murky swamp of this thread. What’s become of all my favourite warriors? Bitters, Old Dee, Frog, Hemingway. Have you drowned in a puddle of single malt /shiraz/ debauchery (BBO)? Have you lost your way and actually now discuss football? Surely at least one of you will be talking about the boys training up a storm? Helloooo?
  2. Yes you’re right 😢 I was offered the chance of going before I got into gear and checked the WA border application. Gutted. I will now be in outback SA at William Creek. They have an annual fly-in on GF day and lots of fun watching the Grannie on big screens. I’m gonna go crazy- I have ribbons and all the Demon clobber. It’s on my bucket list to one day go to a GF before I cark it!! Go Dees😈
  3. Hi all, I’ve lived in Qld for 8 years and have had few opportunities to see my beloved Demons play both in Melb or on TV (rarely screened here). I suddenly find myself in the enviable position of possibly going to Perth for the GF. BUT as I am no longer a financial member I am asking / begging if any member could possibly give me their barcode to secure a ticket?? This will be my very 1st GF ever!! (I’m 68). I have all the clobber and promise to go berserk in cheering our boys to victory. 🙏 Demonstrate xx
  4. Good article by Cam Rose about the viability of impact playing a ruckman. Hope Jake continues to impress. http://www.theroar.com.au/2017/04/12/melbourne-gawn-not-likely/
  5. I'm really sad to learn this. Although not a poster I do get many a laugh with all the drivle on here and Jazza with the woes of milking and trying to give up his smokes was always cause for BBO to admonish and chide. Very sad indeed. It's funny how you have all become so familiar to me. ?
  6. Last year the club website advertised if anyone wanted scarves to apply. I did and got a few boxes of them. Took them up the country and dropped in to several country schools asking if they'd like a few. I figured that it might be a good way to 'convert' a few kids to support the Dees. In every case the schools were very grateful and one school was going to sell them at their fete. I would have done the same this year had they been offered to supporters. A shameful waste.
  7. Oops found the flier......BBQ 11am -1pm. Meet the players and photo opportunities from 12. See you Qld Demon supporters tomorrow.
  8. Can anyone tell me where and when the team will be meeting supporters tomorrow? Will it be at the Maroochydore Multi Sports Complex off Bradman Ave?
  9. Hey Billy 2803 I was also wondering about the training camp on the Sunshine Coast and got this today from the club: "At this stage we are planning a meet and greet session on Saturday 17th January where our members and supporters will have the opportunity to get photos and autographs with the players. Once the details are confirmed, we will send out an email to all of our Queensland based supporters with the details. It is disappointing not to have a game in Queensland again this year but at least we will have this opportunity for our members and supporters in Queensland to meet the players whilst on the training camp." See you there!
  10. Very sad news. A shock really that he went so soon. Much sympathy to his family.
  11. I actually saw Harry give that talk in 2009 and I was really impressed that an up and coming footballer gave up his off-season holiday time, when the rest of his football mates were off celebrating, to go to Africa and help the less fortunate with a building and education program. He presented as a very caring, articulate and selfless person. I've been saddened to learn of his more recent personal struggles. If he chooses to change his name to identify with his heritage or align himself with one of the world's most influential leaders, so be it.
  12. "Who was ruck coach last year?" I think it was Aaron Greaves.
  13. Thanks BbO I really love reading your posts. I agree with many of your Demonland opinions. Keep em coming. So looking forward to a great year in 2014 with lots more success. It was great cheering the Dees with all of you Demonlanders- such good camaraderie to keep us going. Let's ride the optimism wave. I'll be there in 2014 cheering with you all.
