Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Brad, and more impotantly Pia Miller are returning to Melbourne!

Hopefully we'll see her around the club as much as possible! Oh and it's great Brad's back also, hopefully with no hard feelings?

Sweet! I was always under the impression he was a pretty switched on guy and he seemed to have a pretty good footy brain when he played. Glad to have you back Brad!

IMO he should never have gone.

I don't know how to react to this to be honest.

I'm happy that blokes who were burnt in years past are making peace with the club. (Though I didn't mind Millsy being moved on. He had been at the club for 8-9 years and wasn't going to get any better. People did say though he had leadership ability. It was just when Junior was given his marching orders that our clean out of club leaders was complete).

I'm nervous about former club employees coming back as we all saw how that ended up last time.

I will trust that Roos has done this for the best of reasons (i.e. he is the best man for the job).

Is this the same Brad Miller that everyone usesd to love to payout?

Is this good news?

An inexperienced coach? And was no star

Sorry to be negative but it is strange.

He must have good characteristics and I guess coaches have to start somewhere.

Do we really need four threads for this?

I think that Miller was a player that got the most out of himself......A good honest player...not a great player.....I think he might be good to show our young blokes how to get the best out of themselves

Just a thought....

omg tell me this is isn't happening

Were you expecting Leigh Matthews or something? I was surprised too, but these development coach positions all seem to be filled by low profile/inexperienced coaches. What say we give the bloke a chance before we pan him, given that being the best player has never been a prerequisite for being a good coach.

Cant believe the carping and sniping on this forum has started already. Surely you must give PJ and Roos some credit that they know what they are doing. You dont have to be a gun player to be a good coach you need to be smart, a good comunicator and a motivational leader. For what its worth Miller was and is a quality person who obviously, in Roos eyes has those qualities and I thought the team always looked better with him in it even if it didn't show in his stats. It wasn't just the loss of Jnr that left the club bereft of leaders. You can include, Miller, Green, Bartram and Bruce in that list as well.

Great to see Brad back at the club and I thnk he has the potential under Roos to become a very good coach.

PS looking forward to seeing Pia at the B&F

Given that he was a mediocre to average footballer, maybe he's there for relatability with most of our list. :)

Maybe he's also the succession recipient!!!! :) :)

Having inexperienced coaches isn't an issue per se. It's just when they have to carry loads they aren't able to do so. There is an example recently at our club of this and I'm not going to get into a p***ing match about that individual so I will leave it there.

I like the idea of Brett Allison and Roos at the club as they clearly have a lot of experience and will be able to pick up some of the slack if the newbies struggle (especially in the case of Roos). The problem before was that Craigy was the only experienced bloke amongst them and he wasn't even senior coach. When he was made senior coach, the horse had bolted and all he could do was try to resort to damage control.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
