Neale Daniher will leave the eagles at some point ( early nextt year most likely ) due to an unspecified illness.

Health problems force Daniher to leave WCE

If I was a praying man id say one but in lieu of such I will wish you a speedy and full recovery. You might have an Essendon pedigree but youre always a Demon too. The very best to you Preacher .

Yes i heard this in the last hour too.

Hope you are not ill for to long Rev. You are a good man.

Maybe the prospect of coaching Essendrug was too much for his system.

10 seasons a Demon.

Always welcome back.

I met Neale in 2005 during Mad Monday. The whole club descended on the "Vineyard" in St. Kilda.

Had a few beers with Neale over the night.

Top Bloke, he got on well with everybody that night.

I really hope he is alright.

It's a tie between him and Swooper Northey for the best Melbourne coach I have seen (wasn't alive for the Golden Era of the '50's/60's). All the best, Reverend. I hope you get better soon.

P.S. For those who might not know, Neale is a life member of the club so he is definitely a Demon.

Not that it really matters in the big picture, but he has easily been the best coach of my lifetime. His achievements were remarkable considering the cesspools that occurred either side of him.

Get well to one of my favourite adopted Demons.

Doesn't sound good for the Rev. I hope he has a speedy and full recovery, he is a Demon in my eyes no matter where he's come from or where he's gone.

Sad to hear it. He's a massive part of the MFC's recent history, he got us closer to a premiership than anyone since Norm Smith, and I've never heard him described as anything other than a top bloke. Wishing him all the best for a return to full health.

I saw him in Darwin at the Players Presentation at Parliament House before the Brisbane game.

He looked really well. I hope everything is ok. with him.

A really good gentleman

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
