Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

1. Jack Viney - MFC heart and soul

2. Trengove - finding the ball a bit more

3. Silvia - strong clearance work

4. Dunn - solid in defence

5. McKenzie - nullified Fyfe and found the ball

6. Spencer - combative

I've had it with Watts, today he was a basketballer with no intensity, wouldn't tackle and consistently beaten 1 on 1.

Hahahahahahahaha Watts! So he deserves votes for not chasing, not putting his head over the ball, and genuinely looking like he doesn't want to be part of the team? Give me a break, he was woeful.

Not trying to launch a personal attack on you or anything, but he was shocking.

6 Viney (fantastic to see a player who gives second and third efforts).

The rest don't really deserve votes but the pick of them in my view were:

5 Tom Mc (did a pretty good job on Pav - not sure why he was off ground when Pav took a ripping pack mark on Dunny to score his second, but then again I'm not sure why jack watts was playing down back and a defender Troy Davis was playing forward.

4 Jordie McKenzie (showed intent all day and worked hard on Fyfe and then Mundy).

3 Trenners (I assume he was told to play wide and be a linkman and he racked up heaps of touches. Just wish some of them had been in middle of park where his next kick could hurt them).

2 Garland (not a great game by his standards but Mayne was BOG last week and was quiet this time).

1 Sylvia (As with Dunn and Terlich, he racked up plenty of the ball, but his effective kicks must have tallied only five or six). He did win quite a few hardballs though.

Watts was a complete waste today we played with 17 men, today craig confirmed he doesn't want to coach to allow watts to stand 25m in front of Freo goal allowing players to run past him avoiding contact a all cost he was a disgrace and Craig should have addressed this.

Viney

Trengove

Dunn

6- Viney (Hard at it, in so many contests, running, moving well, great snap goal, only made one kicking error, his best game to date to give him a rising star nomination)

5- Trengove (Best game of the year by a mile, ran a lot harder and didn't stop running after one possession)

4- Dunn (Finally seemed to have his head screwed on properly and was decent with ball use)

3- Terlich (Did an honest job like Dunn all game and found a lot of the ball)

2- McDonald (Very good in contests)

1- Kent (Fell away after half time and his kicking wasn't great, but was really lively and desperate)

(A very surprising top 6)

Apologies to McKenzie, Sylvia and also Watts, not because he was good but because of how he was used.

I'm also shocked that N.Jones was clearly not in our best 6 today. Must be the first time in 2 years this has happened

6. Viney - I know who I'd want with me in the trenches!
5. Trengove - probably his best for a couple of years
4. Mckenzie - subdued the influence of Fyfe / Mundy

3. Dunn - mostly dependable, with only a couple of 'brain fades'

2. Silvia - worked hard, but disposal let him down too often

1. Spencer - continues to make it harder for Jamar

?, no names, but there are a couple I definitely wouldn't want with me in the trenches!

6. Viney - this kid is a footballer and has a lot of Joel Selwood about him in the way he wills himself to a contest and wants for his team to succeed

5. Trenners - showed what he can do worked hard as he always does but was rewarded for his effort today, JT this should be standard performance week in week out

4. Mckenzie - not talented but our midfield is better with him in there to provide the contest and nullify an opponent _ Fyfe today.

3. TMac - provided a good contest down back couldn't be faulted with goals from lace out delivery from Freo mids

2. Kent - I love this kid will get better the more time he spends in this environment, dropped off in the 2nd half as he tired

1 Dunn - same as TMac in providing 1 on 1 contest and has a lot of haters but IMO always provides an effort, despite brain fades

Unlucky - Sylvia tried today but didn't really come off in a choice between he and JW for signature I will choose him every day of the week, Terlich gets plenty of it and always gives 100% but his disposal lets him down and teams hurt us the other way by feeding his direct opponent

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to
